However, I AM more or less prepared for some minor emergency that causes my neighbors to panic and start going batsh*t crazy. Of the two, this is the one I think is most likely to happen in my lifetime.

That's how the wife and I were looking at it too,

so I left everything ready to go in the gun safe, even labeled which mags go with which rifles and made certian she had lots of lead and brass. The rifles aren't loaded but all she has to do is pop in a mag and go. Just in case,

It IS true that worrying about stuff actually works. 90% of the time the stuff people worry about happening, never actually happens.

That's why I mentioned worrying about my neighbors going batsh*t crazy.
If they believe strongly enough that the world is ending they will think there are no repercussions for what they do today.

I'm WAY more worried about that than I am about meteors or the mega quake or a coronal mass ejection or... or even a prime time "Knight Rider" marathon.
