Just hoping some of the newbies watch these vids. It can teach them what a high horse power car can do... I got into a street race with my 77 Z28 one week after I bought it, and slammed into a phone pole, and when the car came to a stop the rear end was on the second step of somebodys front porch. My buddy and I were lucky and got out with no problems, the Z28 no so good. It was repaired, took about two months and a lot of money to do.

problem is you never hear about what happens to these people - they may have lost their homes because they couldn't pay their mortgage on account of being in jail. All we see on youtube or the movies is the act - not the consequences.

Can someone please explain to me why after fishtailing, these drivers appear to be putting on the brakes or something? I've fishtailed before under high powered acceleration and I merely took my foot off the accelerator and controlled the car's steering. This has happened to me twice without incident, but it looks like the drivers in the videos don't know what to do?? Am I reading this right, or was I just lucky?

Fishtailing is common in the Shelby but once it grabs...LOOK OUT! Here's a great example of my husband showing off and it not turning out at all like he planned. His best friend from HS was in town so he thought he's take him out in the Shelby and show him what 700+ hp felt like. His shame was so great...I didn't even have the heart to b*tch at him...lol.

How do these things happen? I mean some of them seem to be going out of control by simply accelerating a little bit.

I think the term is called torque steer and if you notice the rearend starts sliding out on the right side due to the centrifical forces, must like the childs toy ball with the spinning top inside and if you held it in your hands, it gyroscopically wants to turn the same way. Physics are a bitch at times. Those of us who's dabbled in youthfull antics, learned this early on and to compensate for it, others apparently are still learning the hard way. Class dismissed

Hey, keep those vids coming, there great and I love watching!
