Being from a family of educators I understand the importance of education. Having only a diploma I have purchased a home and I'm more financially sound than most of my friends with degrees. I am very blessed and give full credit to the Lord for the things I've recieved. I'm currently drivng a fourth gen but I'm saving successfully for an SS or maybe a 1LE.

I have an associate's degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD). I started out as a technical draftsman, then a technical illustrator, then an equipment specialist (purchasing spare/repair parts for the Marine Corps. Did the degree help? Initially, yes. I worked my way up to a GS-13 supervisor through personal development and aggressive work ethics. I pushed for my career for 30+ years and now I am happily and comfortably retired. Mission accomplished.

BS in Management & Finance from Park University
MBA from Webster University
MS in Finance from Webster University (December, 2012)

I used TA when I was in the Marine Corps for my BS, and just finished my MBA using the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Once the MS is done, I'll have about 10 months of GI Bill benefits left....maybe I'll go for a DBA someday????

I don't have a degree right now, but I'm working on one. I didn't need it to get my job, but my boss wants me to have it so that I can take his job in a couple of years. The important thing about a degree that is often overlooked, is even if it isn't in your field of study, employers value the general education you'll get as well. Most degrees force you to take some sort of college level writing, math, and other electives that are valuable no matter what job you end up taking.
