Tinting your windshield (except for that 6" thing) is asking for it, bottom line. If cops need to make revenue or want to stop you for driving like an ass, it gives them a great excuse, just like someone that has cat deletes and no mufflers with a sound that is obviously not stock. If that car is "roaring" because the drive is doing some agressive shifting and accel, it's a great reason to pull them over, even if they aren't even going above the limit or only 5 over. It's simply asking to be pulled over. Luckily I live in a state with pretty lax tinting (not windshield tho!) and with my strip, side and rear tints my interior looks pretty darn dark. With a black interior and exterior, not much light "escapes", haha, so the windshield ends up looking fairly dark anyways.

Sooo, my question would be, were you going over the limit at ALL when pulled over?

I had 20% on my LT and got pulled over twice. I no longer have that vehicle and want to court today and they wanted me to pay the fee for non correction which was about $170. Now dont get me wrong by no means im i trying to get away with it but how im i supposed to correct the tint if i no longer have the vehicle? I agree to pay somewhat but not the full amount so i get a court date to see the judge. So we'll see what he or she says.

What can you say? Camaros are very vulnerable to tickets and law enforcement... Your car is greatt!

They don't want you tot int your windows all the way around because they want to be able to see inside if they have to approach the vehicle at night. I'd take the tint of the windshield and use plexy-glass inserts for the passengers. Then get your fronts tinted again but lightly.

50% is as dark as I'd go for windshield tint. Light enough to look stock, but dark enough to make a difference. I'm not recommending any amount of tint on the windshield though.

I have a RJT Grand Prix with tint. Looks awesome. My C is also RJT and I'm sure it would look awesome too, but I want to be seen drving my Camaro!

Take off your windshield tint, why you'd even do that is beyond me. I'm sure if he saw you approaching him he wouldn't have pulled you over. The windows and rear is all the tint you need on the vehicle.

Do you guys have HUD? I'd be really interested in this type of film to block harmful rays and for a bit of heat rejection, but thought it would likely degrade the quality of the HUD

He pulled you over for too dark of tint; yet the tint on all his cruiser windows are probably 10% like the law breaking cops here in Florida have.
What peeves me the most is the cops all have the darkest tint on their cop cars but pull everyone else over for it. Hypocrites.
I'm waiting for one to pull me over just so i can tell him, "while you're at it why don't you check your own tint's legality".

Thanks for all the comments, the reason I have my full windshield tinted is that the 6" inch strip is very distracting to me. I am 6'2" and the strip is right in my line of sight, plus the tinted windshield knocks the glare down from the sun and bright headlights. I think I might take the windshield tint off and chance the rest.
