Dude. Maybe you're doing something wrong? And he just started seeing this chick. It's simple. You choose the car. How controling is a chick that just meets you and downs your car. It's not trivial or chauvenistic, it's just red flags.

I'm not really doing anything - I'm single as of now and not really looking. I was just trying to be optimistic for the guy. I figured maybe there was a way to sort this out instead of just letting her go. If he just talks to her, they could come to a very nice agreement and then everything is just sunshine. It doesn't matter how long they've known each other - a potential girlfriend is a potential girlfriend. It could end up being something nice?

If she is being a total assface about it, then yeah I'd say kick her to the curb. But if she isn't beyond common consoling or understanding then I'd say give it the ole' college try and talk to her. If he stops talking to her without even trying to resolve the problem, all that boils down to is him being just as judgmental. He never will know until he tries - and if she is still insistent on being a curmudgeon over it then definitely yes, break it - she isn't worth his time.

All I'm saying is that he never knows whether or not it could be a missed opportunity, which in and of itself is a premise very similar to the Camaro. He sure leapt for that, why not her too? Some of us CAN be Richard Hoggard.

But on a serious note, if she seriously has a problem with the exhaust sound, and the fact that the car is a manual, then there is something else wrong that she isnt telling you about. To me, looks arent everything, so if I were you, I wouldn't depend on the fact that she's hot. Make the choice that you will ultimately be happy with. Thats JMHO.

To answer your question, I dated a girl that had MANY issues with my car, constantly made jokes, and always gave me hell about it (it was a Sunfire, but I loved the little SOB ). The girl looked DAMN good, so I figured I'd wait it out, and see if things got better... they didnt. More arguements about the car, and other stuff. She left me for a dude with a lifted F-150... ugh.

Looks can blind you to what is really there. Talk to your friends and get their honest opinion on her. Just don't ask your slutty friends what they think about her, they will tell you what they want you to believe so they can, well, be slutty.

When you find the right one, you won't have to ask random people on a message board if you should keep her.
