I'm not implying 300hp is weak, I don't often step on it anyway so it shouldn't matter really, but if I'm dropping 35 grand plus, and I like both cars so the higher hp wins my money. 126 hp is a big difference, I know Ford can compete, just wish they would.

still not 13 flat..... .4-.5 tenths of a second in the performance world isnt nearly identical....the mustang is a quick car but doesnt have NEARLY IDENTICAL numbers.

bottom line is it will match camaros hp if not nudge up a tab past it.

and they are still floating the idea of a 6.2L Boss for the f-150 and stang.

if that happened. the boss would be the car to get

Boss is coming to the SVT Raptor later this year, probably a F150 option too; i don't think they will put it in the Mustang. its a OHC 6.2, so its going to be heavier

They should have put a 6.2L in the 2010 model, that would have made Ford top dog IMO.

I've heard it's based on the new coyote 5.0 block. The new 5.0 is actually a little bit lighter than the current all alluminum 4.6.

I don't see the 5.0 engine weighing much more or less than the current 4.6, nothing significant anyway. The rest of the car might be a different story though.

But anyway, if Jag can only manage 385/380 out of their direct injection 5.0L V8 DOHC engine, I don't know how Ford will get 400/400 in a Mustang with a very similar engine. It is not a matter of technical feasibility -thats the easy part. No, its about cost: Ford isn't going to put a $10 000 engine into a $30 000 car.

I would have to disagree. All signs point to a 5.0 in the 2011 mustang with a 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto with paddleshift

they call it the cammer... i suspect the coyote will use similar specs.
