For GM survival, good riddance :slice:

I would also say that Buick buyers are probably more loyal to Buick than Saturn buyers are to Saturn (just a thought, not backed by any fact).

Saturn is a low-end brand and margins are probably smaller than those of Buick or the other arms of GM. That's what this really comes down to - who can make money for GM.
Thats it's biggest problem. On higher end products its easy to make one car unique from another. But there is little real difference between a Malibu, a G6, and an Aura. Same with the Outlook vs Traverse. But there is a difference between those two and an Enclave..

Not really 'new' news...just official now.

Good to hear, actually, imo...less brands means less cars means less money spent on reproductions and more money spent on making already good Chevy's/Buicks/Caddy's better. And by niching Pontiac...they may have found a way to insure the survival of rediculous-for-the-times performance cars like the G8 GXP and keep the Pontiac name alive as it pertains to performance cars. This will be interesting to see how it plays out.....very interesting.

GM has to trim the fat and reduce costs on non-productive lines. They will not touch Camaro because it is their saving grace. Camaro is expected to help GM a great deal. Nothing will stop the Camaro.

So has Buick except for China and so is GMC as they are just rebadged Chevies. Chevy and Cadi is all GM needs.

Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti

See the trend?

If this is true, which I think there is a lot of potential in Saturn, if Saturn is truely going to die off, I'm buying a Sky ASAP. That car is hot and will be a collectors item.

And what killed Jeep and Dodge was appealing the trucks and cars to people who just didn't have the money. "Sweeeet" was a great comercial and marketing plan but when blue colar dude shows up do buy his Hemi, he's gotta sell the farm. Don't get me wrong. That Challenger is very nice and very retro and above all, American as apple pie, but my god is it pricy and huge!

I don't know if you guys watched Top gear with the Challenger and the CTS-V and ZR1. Didn't the CTS-V beat the Challenger? Oh and James May likes the new CTS-V, Clarkson loves the ZED-R1.

IF Saturn is going under, you will see me buying a Sky soon. That will be a collectors item IMO.

Suggestion, buy a Sky Redline with every option in the book... and store it for 40 years, it may be worth something then ..LOL

Buick's drivers are going to die in a few years while Saturn drivers will at least be around to buy cars for a while.

Sorry but a Sky being a collectors items is just as likely to happen as the '10 Camaro being one which is not at all.
