That kid is real lucky he didn't get seriously injured... However... he got what was coming to him...
Lol 4 days isn't too bad compared to 22, but he still shouldn't have gotten suspended at all. Thanks for sharing the info

I hate to break it to you, but things are JUST as bad for kids in America.

I was on Caseys end of things, until the bully decided he would pull something AFTER school, AFTER we both got off the bus. I beat him senseless. Not in the same way Casey did (that kid has style) but more in a Ralphie-Going-Crazy kinda way. Never got messed with again.

+1 I always tell my twins to A: try to walk away. B: Don't hit first. C: Hit them back no matter what their size: D: Always stick up for yourself and each other. I would never punish my kids for standing up for themselves or each other. I always want my girls to be better than i was or still am but, they get hit. Then hit back even harder.

That kid got exactly what he deserved and the big kid did exactly the right thing. He could have friggin wailed on that kid even worse but stopped and walked away.

WHA??!? That little kid could've broken his leg, or worse had his neck broken!!

And all the kids laughing! Somebody should have stopped that big lout!

TELL A TEACHER!!!

. . . Absolutely just kidding.

Good for him. Casey is it?

Next time that little shit ought to think twice before picking on somebody bigger than himself...the good news is, there probably aren't any kids smaller than him, so bullying = done.

Bullying is a bigger problem than it used to be. I don't know how or why - but kids are NASTY today...you can pick any one thing to blame it on, but like everything there's a lot of reasons. Bottom line is it's bad. On top of what you see here, you've got facebook bullies, and emotional bullies...as I said, kids can be, and are...nasty.

As a teacher -- we need to report everything...including what the big fella did. It's then up to administration to divvy up the punishment. That said -- I've yet to encounter any bullying in my classes, or in the hallway outside my room. God help the first bully I see pulling any crap.

(Obviously, I'm not gonna do 'nuthin......but boy would I want to...)

I say way to go big fella. I had a bully my freshman year in high school. Tried to pick a fight with me the first half of the year. Finally, he cornered me one morning and started pushing me. I don't know how many times he pushed me, but it was one time too many. I decked him pretty hard. Never had anyone try anything with me the rest of high school. I'd say he did me a favor.

My guess is that there simply aren't enough parents willing to punish their children anymore. In today's society, we have parents who let their children get away with just about everything shy of murder without any sort of negative repercussion.
Simple learning (in the psychological sense of the word) tells us that unless a behavior is responded to in a negative way (i.e. introducing negative stimuli/removing positive stimuli), the behavior will not be diminished. Now, I'm not saying parents need to beat their kids senseless (that's on a whole other level of wrong), but the lack of punishment is becoming detrimental to our society as a whole. I know that, personally, I'm as morally-oriented as I am because I was punished for my negative behavior.
While I came across this a few days ago, I give kudos to Casey for standing up to the little rat. To be fair (ha!), there are two sides to every story, but the evidence tells no lies. It's absolutely ridiculous that both kids had to be expelled, it's nice to see that the short one got 22 days. That's about as karmic as this is going to get.

All good points.

Today's society seems to be getting all touchy-feely, and we're attempting to achieve good behavior through reward for good things, versus punishment and consequences for bad. There is evidence to support both methods, but NOWHERE have I read that it is effective to use either school of thought by itself...unfortunately, we are a society of extremes, and we never seem to find that "happy balance"...

Problem is that a simple ass whipin' is 'Beating Sensless' to all these dumb assed new agers.

It was fear of consequense that kept me straight. NOT possitive re-enforcement.

And anyway, possitive re-enforcement won't work on a lazy and passive kid. Because he.she doesn't care either way. you do whatever you have to to give the child pain. Some kids don't need as much, some need more. When I was a kid I'd take an ass whipin' over grounding every time. So my parents learned early to ground me. My brother was the opposite. He'd rather be grounded for a month than get a beatin'. So be it. He got beat, I got grounded.

To me, grounding last for a the whole time. A whipin' hurt for all of 15 seconds. (My brother was an idiot) lol

lack of parenting skills is becoming a major problem. Parents need to learn not to tolerate bad behavior in their kids, and don't give them attention when they throw a tantrum.
