I have greater respect for the guilds that are progressing through Heroic raids already. Our guild is currently 7/12 bosses down and we're at a brick wall. Chimaeron is such a pain in the ass! Getting up there in epics though. Here's my toon.

I am over all disappointed with Blizz. I think the quality of this xpac has gone down. I think the acquistion by Activision has alot to do with it. There are major mechanical and balancing problems that had not existed before to this extreme. I really just log on to raid now. The community is overall angry and hateful. Im glad its harder than Wrath now but its not anywhere near the quality that BC was.

I think the let down was from not having one giant new area. With TBC, we got Outland. With Wrath, there was Northrend. These had a brand new feel to them because nobody had ever been there before and it was like exploring a new game. In Cataclysm, the new zones are spread out with the old zones. Sure, after the shattering, everything seems new. But its still stuff that we were familiar with already. The new stuff is too spread out.

I'm generally happy with the expansion. The only thing I don't like about it is the difficulty of the heroic dungeons added to the randomness of the dungeon finder. I've had plenty of instances where there was no viable CC class put in the group. Mainly Grim Batol. You need to have a shaman or a warlock but the dungeon finder doesn't care to give you one. Raiding is just fine, though. It is difficult but thats a lot more fun than the push over that ICC was. I liked the epic feel of the frozen citadel, but the fights were easy. I PUG'd my whole way through Wrath. It was only at the end that I got in to a raiding guild that was doing 5-10 PUG members in their 25 man raids because of low participation (due to Cataclysm launching within months). Now I'm part of the #4 guild on my server, 10/12 bosses cleared with just Nefarian and Al'Akir left (Nefarian should go down this week).

My wife plays with me but she doesn't have the time to raid like I do. She goes to night school 4 times a week. We play when we can, but most of the time we just get frustrated with the idiots you tend to find in random heroic groups. Of the past 20 times we've been in them together, we've completed the entire instance maybe 7 or 8 times. We try to be as lenient as we can, but sometimes you just can't help bad players not be bad. Then we go off to farm old content, do daily quests, or play StarCraft 2. We still enjoy doing heroics together, I'm a DK tank and she has a Holy Priest. But the random dungeon finder gives us way too many bad apples.

Details on 4.1

Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman are back as 5 man dungeons! Return of the mounts, as well as some new ones. I'm excited. Sure its rehashed content, but thats pretty much the gist of Cataclysm. Old stuff changed by the sundering to be new stuff again.

I just quit playing WOW recently, thank God.
The nerfing of Arms in the latest patch was the last straw. I'm so glad to be free of that game now.

Bliz sent me an email begging to get me back, gave me a free week to try the new expansion. I log in on my Lv80 priest (14 months since last log in) and my spell bar is nearly empty.

After spending a time trying to figure out the talent trees, I go to restock my spell bar. WTF? I had to go and re-buy several spells that I already had previously. Not spells that were previously talent related either, but like regular spells.

Not like I'm sticking around anyways, so I didn't mind paying out the gold for the re-education and old world flying. Tried to take a few mobs from the first area of the underwater area and it sucked.

Though the goblin starting area was kinda cool. Still not going to get me to come back though.

Yeah, when I started that zone with my hunter I was fairly well geared and was still struggling with it. Once you start getting some of the 80 - 81 greens there it helps out a ton though. I'm itching for Star Wars: The Old Republic to come out, but must admit I've been tempted to start playing WoW again to hold me over till SWTOR releases....

I know a guy who allowed this game to completely take over his life. I'm not kidding.
He has used vacation from work just to play the game. He uses his Visa card to buy fake gold.

I knew a guy who allowed his car to completely take over his life. He has used vacation from work just to drive to a car show. He uses his Visa card to buy overpriced gas.

See how that works? To each their own.

LOL, yup its all a matter of what you like. I finally quit a month ago after playing the game since release. Course most of that I played for free and was only the last year and a half I was paying, so not that bad I guess... Just got tired of the same ol' same ol'. Now I have $180 more a year to spend on something else...hmmm,

what could that be... :5thgenvert:

Nice one jcamaro!!

I have a hard time finding money for everything I'm into. Cars, gaming, my jammin' home theater, putting my kid through college, the house and oh yeah I still have a wife to soak up the last few cents .....

I dunno, I have to agree with the original comment, especially about spending real money on WoW gold. Taking a vacation to get out and drive your car outdoors to meet real people in real life who share the same passion as you do can't be compared to spending your vacation in your house, by yourself, playing a computer game interacting with people whom you've never met. The two are totally different, IMHO.

Not bashing WoW, I played it a lot and really enjoyed it (at times) but it's a total life stealer.
Now buying WoW gold with real money is completely retarded. First of all, it's supporting Chinese gold farmers who 90% of the time generate the gold they sell with hacked accounts, so buying WoW gold is really supporting the robbing of your fellow WoW players. That's why Blizzard will ban your account if you get caught. Plus getting gold in WoW now is SO easy, why would you need to buy it?

I would say for the most part I do agree with everything you said and that is pretty much how I live. But people you meet while gaming are no less real than the one's you meet face to face. I've developed relationships with online friends that run very deep so much so that the wife and I have even gone on vacation with people that at the time I only knew online but had been friendly with for years. An online persona allows annonymity to everyone, including people you interact with on forums like this. I trust myself to be able to read how truthful somebody I meet online is and try to surround myself online and in real life with the type of people I want to be around.
