Let me show you a few pics here.

This is the OEM unit after 9400 miles.

This is the McLeod after 700 miles

If you look you'll see they McLeod is starting to get the same pattern of hot spots on the one disc. It looks like the OEM unit and a much earlier state. The reason the McLeod looks like this is because of a slightly bent disc. That was only determined because McLeod put it on a machine and tested it. In pictures they thought it looked ok. It bothers me that Ford didn't do the same kind of physical inspection upon my request. Tasca Ford (not my dealer) just sent out another guys unit for inspection and he walked away with a new clutch free of charge.

Yeah I get the mods thing but that really wasn't Ford's point. Ford's point was their is no mechanical defect but how do they know that from just some pictures.

Exactly!!

Honestly, if your biggest problem is a clutch... buy a new one and move on.

Clutches are easily replaced. Spec clutches are mad awesome and not terribly expensive. You'll take a bigger hit on a trade in than dealing with the clutch issue.

Garagelogic has way more power then me and no issues. Sometimes you get a bad unit and I probably had one.

It's all circumstantial and assumption.. For all they know you're a sheet driver and destroyed your clutch.. Not saying you are. But they don't know that.. I hate to say I feel your pain, but you kinda had it coming. You modded, it broke, now deal with the situation the best way you can. The dealership, ANY dealership, will look for a way to bail on paying to fix it. That's just the way it is.. If I'm not mistaken, even if you just get a tune then pull it b4 going in to have work done to it, they can still tell it was there..:(

Like you did from your Camaro right?

I just find it funny the guy leaving his Camaro for a Mustang is busting the Mustang guys balls on the Camaro forum.

It has nothing to do with WHAT you drive, just the situation itself. Be it a Maro, Mustang, Charger, VW, whatever.. Situation being the same on ALL if not most, the result would more than likely been the same..

Hey, you broke the rules and now you are paying the price. I'm sorry but that's the way it is. I don't care what moniker is on your car... the rules are what they are regardless of your bow tie, blue oval or prancing pony.

Edit: also, for the record I determined what my problems were and whether or not they could be fixed. I determined they couldn't be fixed so I moved one w/o creating a massive thread and blaming someone for something that wasn't their fault.

This...

Your right, you know what I made a mistake. I bought into all the hype and marketing videos of the car doing cool stuff. I bought into the tuners who said that the car has been proven to handle big power for years now without issues. I bought into the fact that I thought I was helping Ford by buying the car and keeping Americans employed during really tough times.

I just made a lot of mistakes. I had such a great experience with my modded 2005 GT I thought this would be the same. That this car was built the run but instead I got a garage queen that's meant for shows. It sucks and now I really regret my purchase. Everything has been a fight and I've made bad decisions during the clutch repair process because I couldn't get good info from Ford. I'm upset with Ford but I'm also really upset with my self.

The cars are built to handle big power, as they have proved TIME AND TIME again.

However a clutch is not big on the list of things to overengineer to much.

Clutch would have been one of the very first things I would have replaced. Especially if I planned on taking the car to the strip.

OEM clutch is good for 800HP crank

far more than what I would have engineered the clutch to handle.

So you dragged your modified car, roasted the clutch and expect them to pay for it? Yeah, you really want to keep them away from bail out money LOL. Sorry, that's going to happen to you with any car company. Sounds to me like you expect ridiculous service and maybe have some driving issues. . . I mean that with the least offense possible, but come on man. If I took my sti to the shop with a bunch of power mods on it and a roasted clutch they'd laugh their asses off at me.
