I'm all resting for my weekend. Right now, zero injuries and no more gym time till competition. Hoping I can push some big weights and feel good.

Can't wait to see how you do and I think it's wise you are resting!

Doing anything for restoration? Ice baths, massage, etc?

Yeah I jinxed myself. I was telling Monique the night before how great it felt to lift pain free. No shoulder, elbow, hamstring, etc pain!

I have found the fountain of youth for sore, worn-out lifting joints and muscles. It is Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. http://www.sastm.com/

I call them "The Blades of Death". If you guys have someone in or around the area certified to do this.. DO IT. It is really for rehab, as it breaks up scar tissue in joints or muscles, and lets it heal properly. If you have been lifting weights for many years and have that nagging shoulder issue, this will fix it. I did not believe it until I went. My shoulders, after 20 years of lifting, never felt so good. I go a couple times a month when training.

I will also tell you it is painful (aka Blades of Death), when the process is going on. It hurts like an SOB, but it is worth it. You will not be able to stand more than 15-20 mins for a session.

They essentially take those blades and can work in the different layers of the muscle, or the smaller tools and work into the joints.

OK, so I realize that nobody wants to hear it, but I swear by the results-
Try gluten free for a few weeks.
Gluten is an inflamatory agent. Even if you are not very sensitive to gluten, it will still cause inflamation. This inflamation can cause chronic injuries to become worse and reduce healing.
I never would have believed it until I tried it.

Hey Guys so I am going to start going to something called Crossfit in a few weeks. I tried it in Nov (took a fundamentals class all month) and I really enjoyed it. I felt so much better after that month of them kicking my butt and now I feel like I'm going to dive into the crossfit universe. I just really enjoyed how they take parts of different athletic sports ( like Olympic weight lifting, power lifting) and mash it up with some cardio.
anyway I really enjoyed reading through what you guys are doing and hopefully I'll be able to post my transformation stuff in a few weeks!

Good luck and welcome to the fun. Go at it hard, have fun doing it, and you will want to keep going back for more. You will hate every second of it while you are killing yourself, then after, you will feel like a million dollars. It is worth every second!

Interesting. Since Monique is a PT maybe we will look at purchasing the system. I'd like to find somewhere first that does it and give it a shot.

Yup that's how you have to do it. the first 2 weeks of fundamentals my body was not happy but after I got over that hump it was a lot better. plus I started to eat right. Crossfit is big on the caveman diet (paleo).
