I wonder if they're only being offered in W/T-only so they can be sold with as much decontenting as possible and move units.

I wonder what is more expensive, building microchips in the US or building cars you can't sell because of the microchip shortage?

Probably seemed like a good idea at the time to close the plant to save money. Sheesh, they'll send stuff to China just to save a fraction of a penny instead of making it here.

The money they are not realizing on chip-less, unsellable vehicles should make them reconsider making the chips locally.

I wonder why they went through the trouble of procuring an "old" Ranger Raptor? Unless it's just for the optics. I only ask seeing as the next-gen Ranger Raptor is supposed to potentially land stateside in 2023.

Good to see GM making some smart choices. 33s on the ZR2 is good but the best choice is moving the shocks outboard of the frame.

It's really hard to real-world test against a vehicle that isn't available yet. I'm sure they are aware of the next-gen Ranger and are using the potential specs as additional benchmark data.
