Wow, that would be a steal if true. I'll wait for the official release.

God, I hope that Very Reliable source ain't me.

I said $59,995 in a few threads around the internet.

This is based on what similar competitive cars are selling for, and what their own models are selling for.

That really depends.

$60k is not chump change, and it's a Gas Guzzler that is currently struggling with sales. It's why I think people claiming an MSRP over $70k are hallucinating. There are a lot of nice cars in that region.

And next year the ante goes up. Nearly all the GM fleet and Ford fleet are getting freshened up.

If Ford JUST announces a Stang with >700HP for <$60k, or Chevy, before the Hellcat hits the lot, it could dampen demand, especially if less than stellar reviews hit the media.

Mid $60s puts the Hellcat in the ballpark of the GT500 and ZL1. Sub $60K would be genuinely amazing.

how do you figure?

i just priced out a 392 SRT at it was sitting at 50k

Yes they will beef up some components but this is an older style engine with a supercharger

Most shops will install a procharger/kb/vortech etc for about 6-8k

The factory can do it much much cheaper than paying retail plus labor and tune

Also this cost will be spread across the Charger and possibly Jeep SRT8

60k seems very fair. Not only that - it needs to come in at that price because of where the supercharged competition is at.

They ****ed up the Vipers pricing. People try not to repeat mistakes

i think weight and slicks and great air can get this pig dancing close to single digits

not going to lie - i am now interested in a challenger that isnt a drag pak. Kudos to the SRT guys

As far as I can tell, an SRT-8 Core (base) is $40k.

People thinking they are going to double that price are nuts.

I don't know, I would like to be as optimistic as you, but when I heard the 700hp target back in Jan, I also heard that it was coming with a very big price..

We will find out soon...

They're teasing!! Pure evil!

I just hope if this is when C&D did their tests that they ran them down the 1/4 prior to this! Those tires are shot along with the engine being heat soaked to hell!

Okay so a 392 makes 470 HP and costs 50k.

Now you have to take that car, add the entire newly updated interior and the cost of R&Ding that and then making it, the Super Charger and all supporting components. The engine is basically built, you couldnt just take the 392 engine and slap a SC on and make 700 as reliably as the Hellcat will. Then bigger brakes, cooling, suspension, wheels/tires, any special exterior mods etc.

If you wanted to take a 392 and give it all the same performance of the Hellcat with the OEM reliability + quality you'd hit at least 70gs(50+20 in mods).

If they can really get it done for 60k MSRP then that is AMAZINGGG and a HUGE WIN for Dodge.

Tine will tell
