We needed this one given we don't usually perform under the bright lights or in bowl games.

But either way, I like the Colorado so we're still cool

That's good to know. I installed the last one anyway and really like it. For me it eliminates having all the dividers and such that I think may be a PITA to keep up with. The lock is a plus too.

I can't find a pic now but I remember seeing a rendering with the tool box installed. I want that and the tubular side steps. Those look badass. They took Laser Blue off the list but I think it will show up. Or at least I hope it does.

I want it so I can move around my kayak and 2 or 3 of my friends' kayaks when needed.

Agree on sidestep... they did say blue would be delayed. I think I'm going to wait and see some of this stuff before I order.

Well they forgot that the outgoing model was deeply discounted. If you compared its price when it was first released to the current gen they were only up a couple of grand despite all the new technology and engineering.

Same thing here. Wait for the discounts then compare to the silverado.

Also GM absolutely has to compete against the Tacoma an Frontier. Notice how the Tacoma sells in huge numbers? I don't see Toyota complaining that the Tudra is stealing sales from the Tacoma despite "only being a few grand more with a little (in some cases the same) fuel efficiency"

Your forgetting that there are a number of people who do not want a full size truck regardless of the price or FE.

That's who GM (and Toyota and Nissan) are aiming at.

I remember when sales of the new silverado lagged everyone calle it a failure but as soon as the 2013 inventory ofthe last gen was depleted and the discounts started rolling in, sales picked right back up to the point where I see more new silverados then old.

I predict the same will happen with the canyon and Colorado.
I normally don't like comparing what you can get a vehicle for vs MSRP, but trucks are always discounted, most of the time very heavily. Hell most F-150s and Silverados have around 8K off the MSRP.

I agree they have to target the people who dont want a full size regardless.

However there is also the potential customer like me. I need/want a truck. I don't really need it to tow anything, I need the bed, and I need the interior space for when it comes time to start a family. After doing my research and finding out that the Colorado Crew cab is basically the same size as a Full size double cab, that makes the choice even tougher.

basically what I am saying is that if the full size offers me what I need, has the same or better MPG, and is going to be more capable(Even though I admit I don't need those full capabilities) for only a few thousand more, I am going to pick the full size every time. Picking the midsize would feel like settling to me. The F-150 I would want came out 38K ( lets even bump that to 40K for a 15 with the 2.7 Eco) and my Colorado came out to 36... That full size truck is only 4 grand more list price, with no incentives taken. to me, that midsize truck just became a super tough sell to me

And I'm certain GM took customers like you into account when it came to deciding whether or not to bring the truck out in the first place.

I'm a fan of both sizes of truck. I just personally don't like the driving of the full sizes. I prefer the midsize (and if it was still around) the true small trucks like the s10 an Rangers.

There is also the market of people who will be deciding between these and SUVs/crossovers who might come over to it because its hot as large as a full size, but has the bed and is equivalent in cost and FE to the crossover/SUV and will buy it. That's a huge potential market too.

But I think we all agree we should wait for the sales numbers first.

That Brownstone color is very nice and is growing on me. Reminds me of the light pewter metallic 2001 Camaro I used to have.
