I am 44...just many injuries from contact sports...some pretty horrific crashes racing bicycles...but doing good =)
As for squats I prefer not do go over that...just me...perhaps more here and there but I honestly never did them until recently...so just concerned that I can get tweaked from trying to overdue things rather then listen to my body... I still lift fairly hard...but I hear you guys and appreciate the advice...I just recently started lifting with a new member and the dude is a beast....245lbs so I am sure he will push me beyond my safety net

I hear you. And it's great you are still lifting! Always good to get your ass kicked in the gym to make you better! But honestly, if your form is correct, you probably have a better chance of getting a serious injury from driving a car than from lifting heavy (at least where I live)...

I joined a gym a couple of months ago. Have lost 10 lbs, makes me feel much better. Looking to lose about 30 more as my goal. I bought one of those excersize hoops last week. Haven't hula-hooped for 40 years so I have to laugh at myself when I hoop but I can sure see how it will be an effective workout tool.

You have 40 lbs on me though... 3x BW squat is no joke. Most can't fathom what it's like or what it takes to get it. Outstanding, great job!!

Do you even lift, bro?
|
Coming off a shoulder issue from getting back into lifting a few months ago. Took 5 months off to heal up and started slower this time.....murphys law......STILL same L shoulder issue. UGH
I'm taking it slow and not doing specific exercises to avoid aggravating the shoulder and pushing through. I'm 5' 10" and about 190. Looking do trim 10lbs of "fat" and add 20lbs of muscle. I have an ankle reconstruction with hardware and have knee issues as well from too many sports early in life with no joint care. My legs are muscular anyways so I'm focusing on bi's and tri's; traps; full delts and forearms....with some abs thrown in.

thanks!!! yah my PR was 700 but I had to try to get past it. After I got it, I put 800 on just to get a feel for the weight. I am confident that I will get it before to long. And very true, most people dont know what it is like to have that much weight on them. It is intense.
