Guess time's up since I will be out for much of the day ... a parasail is special parachute with winglike extensions that lifts a rider in its harness up and through the air when towed by an automobile or motorboat

next word: "nonpareil"

I think nonpariel is a type of candy possibly in a "bridge mix"? And sorry I can't be on 24/7 to respond with another word, just glad someone else tosses another one out there for me. IF I'm right the new word is axiom.

It means without compare, unequalled.

New word: "slough"

Whoops, too hard again, sorry folks. It means to lose skin as does a snake.

Restart word: "enthrall". I hope this one passes the audition.

heRS was also correct:

nonpariel does mean "without peers" as Ivas mentioned, but it is also a common name for the chocolate candy shown above ... which in my family was also called "bugs on a rock".

not certain but I think slough also refers to standing water ... and I have also used it (perhaps incorrectly) like "sloughing off on the job", meaning slacking off. (Ivas ya resnapped kinda quick! LOL).

Now as to the last word, unless my slow typed response gets beaten out by stieger ... again ... enthrall means to capture and hold an audience or to mesmerize.

new word (provided my definition is both adequate and timely): "recriminate"

It means to denigrate another person, often in a rather petty manner. By the way, my knowing French pulled my chestnuts outa' da' fire with "nonpareil".

New word: "glazier"

That is probably close enough ... recriminate is to accuse somebody who has already brought an accusation.

Glazier ... is that a person who works with sheets of glass?

A drug that lowers inhibitions (can't recall if it is a depressant or stimulant)... also, extremely intense joy, sometimes thought of in a sexual connotation.

new word: "oblique"

It means at a gentle angle, it's used figuratively as well to mean non-direct.

New word: "mitre"

Speaking angularly here or angelically?

angularly: as in type of saw used to cut angles, platform with guide moves, allowing trim molding to be cut by dropping the circular saw at a consistent angle for many cuts. Also, as in mitre box ... gernerally a wooden guide for cutting angles.

angelically: funny looking pope/cardinal hats.

new word: "sturgeon"
