If you want a Daily carry the polymer guns are hard to argue with. Personally I prefer the S&W M&P line over Glocks.

Now if you want a true machine a 1911 is the way to go or a good revolver S&W K frames are excellent something about all that wonderfully machined steel in those two types of platforms is satisfying.

True statements here. I once owned a Colt Anaconda. By far my favorite hundgun. Too bad they are no longer made.

My Colt Model 1911 made in 1918 is still shooting as well as my Colt Series 70 made in 1978

Couldn't agree more, however I caught myself checking out a glock 17 gen4, the other day....I've also been a huge Sig fan.

And just to stir up some shit, I keep a hypoint 380 in the truck! It's the new model and after just around 1500 rounds I have yet to have it jam.

Hi-points are ugly as sin, but they are reliable to boot. I can shoot Glocks well, but the brick like grip irritates me to no end.

This is why I prefer the S&W M&P. Very comfortable and every bit, if not better than a Glock.

It's lighter and holds more rounds and it's cheaper than my sexy 1911. If not wasn30 or 40 years ago I'd be a 1911 guy all day. It's just hard to justify carrying a $1000 - $1500 pistol everyday...

We fired a bunch of 12ga, 9mm, and .380 today. Didn't want to clean the SIG, so no .40 today. The home defense 12ga was pretty cool. 1oz rifled slug AND 3x 00 buck pellets.

Craig had his 7 y/o grandson firing the Hi-point 9mm carbine. He was doing great at 40 yards. I was having him recite the cardinal rules of firearms safety. Another one on the road to responsible gun ownership. Somewhere a liberal cried.....

Here's my pic for carry, the Springfield is a .45 and the S&W is a little bigger but holds 13 rounds of 9mm and is the most comfortable to point and shoot

Then there's the night greeter for when they drop in unexpected:

But then I replaced the shotgun with this because it's 30 cal, extremely quiet like "disconnecting an air hose" and you don't loose your night sight from the flash! It throws a 220 grn bullet 1100 fps and YES, I have the stamps.

JMHO, I'd throw a light on that sucker if it's for home defense.

Aaahhhhh! Demon gun! You can't have those. They shoot 30 rounds in half a second. Yuk, yuk.

Ok, enough pun. It's really hard to not buy a nice rifle for $600 or less. I'm not looking to buy an AR but a nice rifle with almost infinite accessories? I tried looking into. 5.56 rifles but the ones i like are around$1000 and up. I wanted something in a 9mm sub or similar for the mrs and my daughter, but even a nice one will run close to 1k.
