He has been, for the most part, but he blew the engine because he melted a heater hose, lost coolant, and blew a head gasket, then he drove it around with a blown gasket for awhile until it went kaput (I forget what the final failure was, but it was significant).
He already planned on building a fully forged engine for it so he didn't care, and last I heard, it was down for that.
He also backed it into a bush and broke the spoiler.

All in all, he's pretty mature about it, though, and knows what it meant to me and he wants to keep it nice.

Metaphorically it wouldn't be the same, either. It's not 'mine' anymore, ya know?

I understand, that sucks, especially when you know how nice it was when you owned it, if I ever sold my 88, I would want it to be sold out of state and far away in case the same the thing happened.

Yeah, I was torn about that, but I offered a free lifetime of advice for it because I wanted it to be treated right and I knew it inside and out.

You know what? I'm going to go home early and install my CAI on my new Camaro to make myself feel better. Hah! (It's no turbo, but 10 more hp is better than none. )

A lot of they guys back home used to do this when they would put Chevys in fox bodys, got the ford boys all worked up( that they could finally win a race with a ford car!)
