Here's why below... I like the change, the progress, the advancement, the sleek fastback style, and yes I like the rear. Similar principle as what GM did to the Vette... a modern game changer but still embraces its heritage with a touch of classic cues. Like I stated before, icons also have to evolve. The Mustang is the original all-American pony car icon... Ford just advanced it more & more, and that's a good thing.

They didnt design anything special aesthetically for the car to make it more appealing or marketable to Europeans. Perhaps in the interior they increased their materials more than they might have otherwise, and obviously the boosted 4 cylinder (which most likely was becoming an option here regardless of it being offered over seas) will be popular elsewhere, but the car (and 90% of its sales, which I see being greater than last years 100% of sales) is American in design and function.

The car is already immensely popular abroad.

Has any pricing been released on the Z/28? I estimated that car to be the same, if not higher priced than the ZL1.

Oh, I do remember the "Simulations" comment from Oppenheiser about the ZL1 beating the new GT500 in straight line, 0-60, etc. That was proved very wrong when the GT500 came out. I don't recall Ford making a stab or model lineup comparison against the ZL1. They did reprise against the ZL1, but, that's it.

Z/28 is an amazing machine, but, it really cannot be daily driven like a Boss/Boss LS can, or GT500. Z/28 will have no A/C, and they are still considering using manual front racing seats, tossing the rear seats, tire inflation kit/spare, removing the interior sound deadening, removing the trunk mat/interior, etc.

It will be a high priced race-car with limited features and not meant for winter/hot summer driving.

I think they did make at least one concession to the European market, that being clearance between the hood and the hard parts beneath (required for mitigating the amount of injury inflicted on the pedestrian you just hit), which unfortunately puts the hood height slightly higher than otherwise necessary. In turn, the seat height and roofline are likely fractionally higher, something you might notice only subliminally. Perhaps there was also an impact on engine and engine compartment cooling, which would affect the design of the grille a little.

I don't think all that takes away from the car at all though.

It isn't competing against any Ford model, it's not intended for Joe A and Bob B to pick up and drive to and from work and the grocery, and it's going to be pricey because it can, as well as it has a lot of money wrapped up in its production.

Just like the '00 cobra R was not made for you and me to cruise around in, the Z28 is going to be an unforgiving bitch that wants to be on a track.

I for one don't disrespect that mentality at all.

I also think it is going to.come in around 68-70K

Looks like they threw a ford fusion on the front of the car and then made the back end look even worse than before.

The car is ok looking...but it does not jump out and make me want to buy it. I think Ford played it a bit too conservative. I dont think it is going to be very hard for chevy to make something that looks a lot better. Seems like they would have learned this last time around that styling plays a big part in the sales. I just dont think this is a strong enough showing to trump chevy if they produce another great looking camaro.

I love seeing it in the different colors. This car is HOT for sure. If anything the Fusion was inspired by the Mustang not the other way around. Either way the Fusion is a nice looking car too. It wouldn't upset me for someone to care my 2015 Mustang to it. For me I see much more than Fusion in this car. It screams Mustang to me except more refined. I love it.

When the 15 is lowered it reminds me of a Nissan 370z and looks like it has airbags. Looks way better in the. stock height photos.

The front is growing on me but the rear "fastback style" just looks awful imo. I feel like the rear gets worse with every picture of it that I see.
