Engine for engine, if that's what we're getting into here, the LS3 is still the better unit.

Those are just as fast as the best ever ls3 ET on this forum. Stick vs stick, it's a drivers race. Auto vs auto, the 5.0 has a distinct advantage over the l99. The gt500 doesn't hang with the fifth gen, it smokes it. Why does GM need a blower to match it? They don't just like ford doesn't NEED one to top the SS, it's just a great, cost effective, efficient way to get there.
zzzz....zzz....zzzzz..i'm sorry, all i heard is "I'M A FORD GUY ON A CAMARO SITE HERE TO SELL MUSTANGS." Let me join the Corral.net or stangnet just to tell them how great my bowtie is....

don't bet what you don't have.

what you guys need to do is sell your old azz Gt's and buy a new 5.0.

well i really dont care if someone "needs" a blower or a bigger motor. if i lose, regardless if the car has a bigger motor or N20, boost or whatever then i got beat.

likewise for when i win...if i use boost, spray or cubic inches...a win is a win

Anything can be fast.

Plain and simple.

How big is your wallet?

Someone is always going to be faster. Someone is always going to be a better driver. Someone is always going to have more money.

The new 5.0 is the real deal. To simply make all these vague assumptions is no way to prove your point. If anything you are making some of us camaro owners look bad.

Some of us can learn to live with the fact that a Mustang GT is right in the game. Others cant.

If you want to beat a given car/person...spend some money.

If you really want to talk bang for the buck. A used mustang 5.0 87-93 or an ls1 f-bod is the way to go right now. Find a used one for 3-9k and spend another 20k on mods and be much faster than a new car with less invested.

When you buy a new car for over 30k you arent going to win the price/performance argument. Drive what makes you happy.

I love how the word "cheap" is thrown around. I don't even know what that means. The interior is clean and sleek. A few nice touches, but not overdone. Just how it should be for
a muscle car.
Man, you're smokin' something. The last thing the interior of the Camaro screams is muscle car. It screams Nintendo to me and that's coming from someone who wanted to LOVE the Camaro. Add to that the fact that the dash feels like Chineese plastic and that the air vents bow when maneuvered and you've got a real lack luster interior. The 6 speed shift knob is completely un-ergonomic as well as it's too big and too short. The only thing they got right on the interior were the 4 pack gauges offered as an option. I honestly believe Chevy focused on the power plant and threw the cheapest interior they could into the 2010 Camaro as they weren't sure how it would sell. It's no surprise it's slated for major upgrades in 2012.

People complain about the Challenger interior being like the Charger, but since I'd never owned a Dodge anything, the Challenger interior was right up my alley. It's functional, looks good and won't be out dated in 2 years like the current Camaro will.

The Mustang has the nicest interior of all three though. The dash pad is supple, the leather in the seats is nice and plush, the gauges are VERY retro with a hint of modernism, and when you get the upgrade the aluminum shifter is nice. You get loads of gauge colors and illuminated rocker panels. Ford really stepped up their game with the 2011 Mustang. The only thing I didn't like about the 2010 that I test drove was the pitiful power output of the motor. Ford has since remedied that and has a real winner on their hands.

If it can handle a supercharger I might have one of those to go along with my 550RWHP 627RWTQ Challenger R/T.

The one thing you don't seem to mention is that the above is, and only ever will be: your opinion.

I don't say this to discredit you -- but to preserve the integrity of the people you acuse of "smoking something".

The interior has won a world-class design award by a panel of impartial judges from across the globe...many here love it. You didn't...I'm sorry that you didn't, but it doesn't make you any more right than the next person here.

I don't dispute your statement and you'd know better than I, but man that's a real shocker to me. Even when I had my heart set on a 2010 Camaro I posted here how disappointed I was with even the design of the interior, but was willing to get over it for that nice motor and body style. The materials just pushed me past the point of wanting a Camaro after I actually touched them. My previous posts on the subject will show this to be a true statement. The power output of the Camaro didn't really impress after I had the Challenger. We were gonna get the Camaro for my gal, but decided against it after the test drive. The torque just wasn't the same. My Challenger has 3.92 gearing which likely is the reason.

I still like all three cars, and am ecstatic to be alive for the 2nd coming of the muscle car wars. We're now eyeing the 2011 Mustang but I'll reserve final judgment until I can test drive one.

I will say the folks on this forum are much more involved in the "hobby" than the Challenger folks. I enjoyed meeting a lot of you guys at Camaro5Fest.

I have owned them both. The 1SS interior is nicer than the base model GT. The Premium GT however is much nicer than the 2SS/RS.

Both cars have their highs and lows but I will say the Mustang has my nod atm. Hence the reason I traded the Camaro for one. My decision absolutely takes nothing away from the Camaro. It is a fantastic ride as well and one of the best I have had the pleasure to own.
