I've seen a corvette wheelie and hit the wall and that was intense but I *getting flamesuit on* don't think we have enough power to have something like that happen. I think that if you just know how to hold onto your car and going in a straight line, you'll be fine. It's when you push the big hp numbers that I would be more scared.
With the weight of our cars and at N/A power levels I just can't imagine having major spin (after the intial launch) and loss of control at the track like a car with 500+ HP might have.

I mean...I've done many 0 - 60 runs on the road with no hint of an issue. A track should have at least that much traction right?

Yea, that's what I'm saying. Technically, a poorly prepped track can be worse than a regular road but its never that bad. You'll only really spin the first 60 ft and with our power levels, it won't be enough for anything to happen. If you can do a 0-60 on a public road and maintain control, you'll be okay at the track.

Beaches are nice here this time of year....how about a mini vacation?

Invitation is open and you would have fun!

Oh a vacation to Florida would be a good time. Wife and I were kind of thinking maybe a trip to Vegas this summer since she has not been, but now I kind of doubt any of it will happen lol. We'll see!

I have no doubt that driving boost sixer, or some other crazy build could get hairy going down the track, but I feel pretty safe with my N/A car for some full throttle runs down the track

It depends on the tires & track conditions. I have not had any problem with traction until my new tires, new mods & a really cold & humid (dewy) track at our fall Brawl event last year. I had to take off a bit soft before punching it that night & then still got a little spin. But I still managed to beat all the V8 guys & gals in our club as they could not get a grip at all & spun most of the way down the track. (it was also a 1/8 mi track). It was fun though!

Does anybody think that if an IM is painted black, it will run hotter than one painted another color? I want to paint my IM but I just don't know what color to go with.

Ummm it will not. The reason why black items are hotter than say something that is white or yellow. Is because black absorbs light and light colors reflect light,

Agreed, its ability to hold heat is dependent on the metal used and a few other things. Color would only come into play if say you have the hood open at a car show. Even then, the heat wouldn't reach anywhere near engine operating temps.
