If the TRX had been engineered for the 6.4 instead of the Hellcat, I'd bet it would cost at least 5 grand cheaper, if not closer to 10 grand.

Power isn't everything. If GM were to release the Silverado ZRX with the 6.2...sure it might be a bit outgunned but still anything but slow and/or underpowered. Also, It would probably be priced right with the Raptor.
I agree with KMP here. I know the Raptor and TRX are more baja style but I don't get the appeal of all that HP in a off road vehicle. I mean I get the why not approach but I don't get the practical approach.

Had they gone street truck route, yeah I totally get a 700hp truck. An off road truck? I don't get it

I don't mind that idea

Same. But that's the FCA way of doing things, shove as much HP into a car as possible for bragging rights and to appeal to enthusiasts, practicality be damned. The ZR2 gets crapped on for being just a midsize truck with only a V6 but it's a good size and has good power for actual off road applications.

I'm assuming I'll be working a ton of crashes involving TRXs with owners who had no idea how to control all that power.

You realize these vehicles don't actually go off-road? At most, some stray gravel in a driveway that was paved a while back. Practical is not the name of the game.

I certainly foresee GM taking a 2-tiered approach with the ZRX. I see an NA version and a SC'd version. I say this since, earlier this year, we found out that GM was engineering an LT4 for truck/SUV use. Having a cheaper NA version (~$50's) and a SC'd version (~$60's-70's) would be very beneficial in terms of appealing to a broader market and thus, producing more sales.

Produce a top-tier product and have it undercut both Ford and FCA in terms of price.

Oh no I totally get that very few off these will ever go off road and the FCA strategy is just throw power at it...that's why i dont understand the approach ram took making it an off road truck.

I guess GM's sharing some of their designers' work now on Instagram. Some insight into early design work for current and future products.

I wish they'd make a smaller version of that tailgate for the Colorado
