A puncture wound where the object tore the flesh/muscle tissure during penetration.

P.S. - The dark, almost black color of the wound looks like this photo was either taken of a cleaned wound post-mortem, or that a clotting agent was used. Considering that the skin is still flushed, I'm inclined to think it was quik-clot or similar.
