Anything's possible. Alpha will be much more flexible for applications like a Z28.

Zeta's problem is that it's literally a full-size platform...one of the biggest passenger cars GM builds, the Caprice, sits on the LWB version. With hardpoints like that, it's difficult to craft a sports coupe out of it. The Camaro is pretty much an engineering marvel in itself because of this.

As long as GM works out the weight issue that has supposedly crept into Alpha, the 6th gen will be a much improved car over the 5th gen.

Also...don't rule out a turbocharged 4-cylinder. Or a mild hybrid...anything is possible.
