Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be for the PS3 though.

This is the setup I have with the older Logitech GT Wheel (works with PS3 but doesn't have the clutch pedal and adjustment knobs like the new ones have). This pic is from 2005 when GT4 came out and I still use the same seat/wheel I just no longer live in my folks basement and a I play on a 42 inch plasma now.

Its absolutely awesome and worth every single penny, the experience is so much greater with a setup like this. you can order it from www.bobearlracing.com

I will also look into the Fanatec GT3RII or Carrerra wheel with the clubsport pedals and shifter.

Or you can go with the G27 if you want to mod it to a different steering wheel, perfect pedal, and ad a e-brake.

On the flip-side - that was like before PS3 or 360 even came out, so it's not really a good comparison, lol. Still - it just seems you have to either have or go and buy all the stuff to make some of these wheels work, and it just isn't worth it - yet.
The Logitech Force Feedback wheels are the only ones to buy. Others imitate, but they are the best. I had the GT wheel for my PS2 with Gran Turismo 4. The driving experience was 10x more realistic and the force feedback made it feel like you were driving, it gave resistance on hard turns, jiggled when you when over bumps or dirt.

Again, Logitech is expensive but they are the best and handle like a real car.

My Logitech GT was from 2005, it was one of the best at the time (there was 1 that was a step up for $20 more I think). The new G27 adds a clutch and shifter. The potential problem with the G27 is that you need to position the shifter at the right height to make it feel like a car. They have simple stands:

But the shifter is same height as the wheel. The ideal set up is:

But those are quite expensive. There are some home made versions:

You could be more creative and make a spot for the shifter at a lower height. I plan to do something like this since I have an extra race seat that my father-in-law did not use in his drag racing car.

Nope sorry but the Fanatec Carrera and GT3 RS v2 is more realistic out of the box than the G27. The belt driven FF is awesome as well. All aluminum pedals, paddle shifters, h shift and sequential shifting.

However if you do some modding to the G27 however the cost it quite up there you can get it really dialed in. One down side no sequential shifting.

Also for the non DIYers try the obutto seat

Tell me about it! At least we have a solid official date

I've been concerned with the exhaust sounds from this game because past versions, honestly, SUCKED. After seeing a few videos, and hearing a ZR1, I think I feel better. I'm salavating at new information almost as much as I am for Z28

Hmmmm.......I am actually going to pass on a steering wheel and pedal setup for the first time in my life.

I have a hard enough time getting laid right now, I can't image what the chick's gonna think when I bring her home and sees that mess

Sticking with the gamepad on this one.

Its all about how you approach it with them. My girlfriends have had a blast playing it. It helped that I was able to buy their identical car in GT4 and then let them race it around a track.
