when rampage was ground and pound rashad i really thought the fight was over. i even said hes done. but he stoped punching rashad and then rashad got to his feet rampage let him recover. i myself the one who thought rashad would win will say that i thought rampage did not proform like he nomaly does and seemed to be getting tired very quickly. rampage did drop like 50 pounds during his training. my only question is (does rampage really want to be a hollywood star and thats what he wants to make his carrer out of or does he want to do both the movies and fighting. because even after the fight he said that rashad was the beter man. but i agree shogun will rip rashad to peices.

Rashad is underestimated. He is very quick and his wrestling is strong. I do agree he has a week jaw though. My 7 year old son has been training at Joe Stevensons gym for about 2 years now and Joe trains out in Albuquerque New Mexico with Rashad as Jacksons Gym. So I for one was rooting for Rashad as they are from the same training camp. I do however agree that Rampage was very rusty after the long layoff. I'd like to see another rematch in 6 months however i doubt it would happen as Rashad's win has jumped him back into top 3/4 seed in the division.

i would not mind seeing a rematch with these two in about 6 months but i know it wont happen. if there was a rematch it would be a true fight. but i am wondering if we will see rampage again. this is the ufc and anything can happen.

I think we will see him again. Because we still see Liddell and he aint done much of anything in a few years.
The big names with (former) big talent tend to stick around through the bad times. The one hit wonders who fail to perform a few times are the ones that get cut the quickest. But who knows?

exactly-- Kimbo isn't a MMA fighter, just because he did a reality show, and has some back yard brawls on youtube. Doesn't make it so.
I don't dislike Kimbo, I actually root for him, but he isn't good for the sport. MMA is constantly trying to prove this is more than brawling, but then they bring in a brawler, and x football players, and washed up boxers and try to remain serious. Ramage wears a chain, and howls? Kindal Grove wears/wore that STUPID- silence of the lambs looking mask Brock Lesnar is talking crap to sponsors- and putting on a show like the WWE Anderson Silva is a complete ass hat with tons of talent. The nicknames are getting ridiculous. (Joe lil hethen stevens? WTF) There have been a post fight sucker punch recently and a post fight- brawl a few weeks before that.. It is all hurting the sport in my opinion.

I think Rashad has a lot of talent, and Shogun has a lot to deal with. I thought Rampage was going to crush him, but I was wrong. In fact, everytime Rashad has fought I thought he was going to lose...most times I was wrong. I don't like his taunting ways and his holier then thou attitude, but he's a good fighter.
Why can't we have more GSP's out there? Humble in victory and defeat...never talking trash until the other guy opens his mouth. P.S. The best fight was on Spike before the PPV, a one punch knockout after two 1/2 rounds of getting his a$$ beat!

I do think that we will see Rampage, I mean he won the fights before this one. I think ring-rust was a huge factor for him.
ring rust ya i would say thats part of it. rampage spent 448 days away from the ogtagon this time.

I know this is an old thread...
but I heard that if GSP punches you in the face, you have to fight off an overwhelming urge to say "Thank you" haha
