Enough

The topic is 370Z Spyshots

this isn't about pickup trucks, or Challengers or Mustangs or the 350Z.

well the 350z was a great car so to be improved upon is great but still not better than a v8 IMO

Guys, when i made this thread i didnt do it to provoke everyone who has an opinion on the 350z.

However, the 350z is an Amazing car. It handles and responds as good or better than any car in its price range. you know what bmw always brags about, the "feel" of the road? well the Z's have it.

now the new 370z is going to be a real competitor. 3000lbs, prob closer to 340-350hp, its going to be one amazing car. Considering the 350z does 0-60 in 5.3 (my gf owns one. this is the right number) and it drops 200-300lbs, and adds 40+- hp your looking at 0-60 in 4.8-4.9. Now you throw in the possibility of the Dual Clutch tranny and your looking at 4.7.

so this car WILL absolutely be a competitor, and its biggest asset will be its lack of weight. (mustang 3500lbs 300hp 0-60 in 5.1)

and if you haven't driven a 350z, and i dont just mean around a parking lot, then you have no right to smash it and you open yourself up to looking ignorant.

As for the twisties and the SS, read up on how the Zeta sedans handle. Then improve it a bit for the Camaro. Lets see, the 350Z did the nurburgring in 8:26, which I believe favours handling over power. Oh the Camaro SS: 8:20. Will the 370 beat the 350 by more than 6 seconds? Its going to be close.
Hmmmm lets see, Nissan promises their new 370Z would out perform the Porsche Cayman, which, in fact laps the Nurburgring in 8:10. We all know Nissan means buisiness when it comes to building sports cars. So theoretically speaking, the 370Z should lap the Nurburgring roughly 20 seconds faster than the SS

Where did the extra 10 seconds come from (or should I say go)? Either way, a sub 8:10 on the ring is very good, consequently its better than not only the SS but also the Cayman.

By the way,i live in Tennessee, that's quite far from Detroit and yet,a bunch of these low production Challengers are running around....hmmmm,do you think Dodge knows this? should they be worried a bunch of Challengers has escaped Detroit???? They're very pretty,i've seen Black ones, silver ones, red ones,an orange one.....i think it was gray one(it was dark),a white one and really pretty burgandy V6..............crap,i wish i had my camera,i didn't know these were rare cars i was seeing! What color is yours? Transparent?
No, tundras are gutless, drove a 5.7l single cab 2 wheel drive and thought i was going to fall asleep driving it, Tundras are not even comparable to those other trucks, had more fun in a colorado then a tundra. Now that i siad that this has gotten way off topic so yeah 370z wooh!!!

This comment lacks thought.

30k? you realize this car is being compared the porsche cayman. what is the base price on that?

Little speculation here, but the 370z will be a better cornering car than the SS which in turn will make it a better track car. The 'better than cayman' comment just means it will be sub 8:10, not necessarily 8.09.

The 370z isnt going to have the muscle or the firepower that the SS has, but its still going to be a great car. Same price, ill take an SS. But that doesnt mean im not going to respect the 370z.

as for the 330hp engine, ive heard that too but i also heard they were developing a d/i version of that same V6 engine, so who knows.

Better cornering or better handling or both? The two terms are slightly different. Handling generally refers to shifting the momentum of the car, but cornering ability often gets lumped in. Cornering on the other hand requires steady state grip allowing for the maximum speed through a corner. Benchmarks for comparison are slalom and skidpad. What is the 370 supposed to get? As has been shown, I'm not anywhere near an expert on that car. We can only guess what the SS will have in the slalom and claims for skidpad go from high 80's to high 90's so we don't have a really good idea there either. But I'd be shocked if the 370Z couldn't beat both.
