Do you have the max resolution image from GM's site handy?
I don't need it...but I'm going to reference a few things you cannot see in the above images...

It looks almost the same as the current design. The computer readout though could be distracting in the dash.

Mmcay...

Check out the steering-wheel controls. They're Volt-like touch sensitive!
And every other switch/button in the car is backlit through the black facia. Extremely high-class.

When off, the IP and center stack will appear totally black interrupted by only a few chrome-accented buttons.

And the shifter...It says "P" on the top. I believe that's another backlit-indicator. And it doesn't appear the shifter moves, there's very little space to slide it.

Finally, that I can see -- I think the center screen is also touch-sensitive, just like the Centennial Corvette Concept...which has be wondering how close to production that car's insides were/can be....

I wish we had a fainting smilie.

Just hazarding a guess, but that might be an electric shifter? It has three positions a la sportshift? Just instead of sportshift, it is all the shift pattern? Right from Park to D? Just running my imagination, i'm going to look at Fen's vid here.

Wow Fen, that vid on the XTS is sweet! Though they could have put some music to it.
Ford and their dead tree on the dash be d*mned! This beats that anyday!

Thanks, Fen. That's....wow.
This car breaks all the rules! GM ought to be accelerating this project, and the "other" companies out there ought to be pissing themselves right now.

WELL DONE!!

As for the exterior. Someone mentioned overhang of FWD... U wanna see the difference between Epsilon II FWD overhang and Audi FWD overhang??? I give U this:

versus

U could tell me a thousand times that the XTS was FWD based and I would swear U down to the pointof bashing U over the head witta... "cuppa" coffee that U were wrong...

Why are so many of these guys hung up on RWD as the saving grace for all performance cars??? I have a real issue with this especially concerning Luxury and mainstream vehicles. The truth is LARGE-LUXO cars should ALL BE AWD all the time. There is no plausible reason why they wouldn't be in fact. They have the price tag to seemingly have customers demand that they show up with all the goods... especially advanced drive-line engineering.

I have yet to see anyone out at the track with an S-Class, XJ, 7Series/B7, LS460, or A8/S8. Not even the AMG versions. It's actually preposterous when U think of it. The average buyer of these cars is normally in the $150K annual income ($250K household) demographic, and age is normally about 55+.. unless it's a USED car. With the exception Bob Lutz.. I dunno that many guys above that age that are out at the track in their Exec Saloon. Hell it's hard enuff finding an M5 or CTS-v at the track. People with the means to own a $60-100K+ car would have the means to buy a purpose built track car if need be.

The interior is to die for.. and the drive-line is perfect. I will agree tho that choices should be allowed. In fact.. I would be happy if Cadillac made the Platinum exclusively Hybrid, while offering an engine line basically like this:

XTs-hybrid-Platinum 350HP 3.6L (AWD) $80K
XTs (203inches) - 395HP 6.2L $55K Available in PLatinum Trim +$15K
XTc (pronounced Ecstasy ) 400HP 6.2L $65K Available in Platinum Trim +15K
XTs-V 556HP SC6.2L $85K
XTc-V 630HP SC6.2L $95K

The S-Class is certainly the leader in Exec-Large Saloons.. especially when U throw the coupe CL in for good measure... but the old Audi A8L was subtle in it's cool... and it also continues to be my ace in the hole in arguing the virtues of Cadillac's XTS.. being AWD.. hopefully ONLY-AWD just for arguments sake... because let's face it... if U give people a choice of being able to choose between FWD option and AWD-Only (gun to the head marketing) in the market place they will belittle it as a pretender. Such is the reason why Audi only sells their FWD A8 in Europe etc.. and not the US.

BTW.. the S-Class comes in 275 HP v6 for S400h, 382HP V8 for the norm S550, 518HP for the S63AMG... and a 510HP V12 for the top dog S600. My line-up for the XTS would automatically mimic this but with a twist
