I meant the year 2010 (this year) which is when the 2011 models are released. These car companies are messed up on their model year release dates.
2011 Camaro convertible
2011 Mustang 5.0 6spd
Hope that clears it up for you.

We're going to have to wait to Q1 2011, so the Mustang will definitely have the upper hand in pony sales for that reason. Upgrades bring a lot of energy to the Ford side of the equation. The Camaro has a big rush of sales that will hopefully last for a long time. It would make sense that this segment would grow, but it is hard to pin what segments might shrink to make this happen. After all, the US sales overall aren't going to raise much from where it was a couple years ago any time soon.

Wow that article was full of fanboy fail. Are they always that biased with Ford?? I mean, even with 3 months head start, they only outsold the Camaro by 4,000 cars.... Anywho, we'll see who gets the last laugh next year.

I think Ford Mustang will get the last laugh again due to the powertrain upgrades. along with all those 05-09 model mothers might want to trade their car in for a 2011 v6 3.7

All that matters to me is the Camaro sales figures are in line with what they estimated they needed to make a profit. All the more impressive because the number of cars they arrived at, they agreed on BEFORE the market went to sh*t.

They should hit 100k easily in a 12 month period, and as long as thats good enough for them to keep making the Camaro...and perhaps...expand(cough Z28 cough) on the platform, its good enough for me.

The Challenger was never supposed to be a mainstream success for what its worth. It was more of a Halo car than a mainstream street performer. A Halo car, not in a sense like the Viper or the Corvette, but a somehwat limited production model.

You guys are hilarious.

You really think that camaro will outsell mustang with the new 5.0 that only gained 20lbs (thats what they said last i checked). The mustang will have a faster 0-60, faster top speed, and as always far better engine sound than camaro. and you think next year camaro will outsell?

Also camaro is more expensive (mustang price pending).

im not saying its impossible.........but far from certain!

sincerely,

Mustang Troll
