lol....

youtubed this again.... oh my.

Reminds me of a theme song for one of those terrible modern day kids cartoons. The sort of cartoons that make me wonder.... what happened to all the kids that grew up on 80's cartoons.... why aren't they making the good stuff !

The dance reminds me of richard simmons.

Neither of these reminders makes me want to buy a car or save the planet..
They both make me want to put 4 more v8's in my camaro.

That video is a "double bagger".

oooooookay.........

A couple of things:

>The video you saw was a very early rehearsal.........and yes, it did not look professional - Early rehearsals rarely do!

>The main presentation of the Volt at Los Angeles was by our Tricia - whom many of you have met at autoshows - tall - long dark hair - knows a ton about Corvette and Camaro..........that Tricia ...

- she talked for about 10 minutes at each presentation on the platform - went nowhere near that dance floor - and explained a LOT about how the Volt works - the display also featured a cut-away - -and a battery pack. She would then stand at the edge of the Volt display and answer the thousands of questions that people ask -- all the while keeping a smile. (not always an easy thing to do ....) She did a great job and provided 'stuff' that people like you and I want to hear..........

As to the 'dance'

>Someone at Chevrolet - I would think the Global Marketing Director for Volt -- felt that some entertainment might draw people....and that's a good assumption ...keeping in mind that the Volt draws people to Chevrolet like no other nameplate has - and some of those people have different tastes than perhaps you or I..... I will not make further comment on the content of the 'dance' other than to say that this was a "Los Angeles" only addition to the display.

Not really sure why this is being trashed so hard. I have yet to see this dance come on in the middle of Family Guy or anything, so what's the big deal?

Looks like a harmless attempt to grab attention, and probably some laughs. Apparently it's done both.
At least it's a departure from the industry standard. (shameless sale of sex)

So it's corny. I've seen alot worse...

I have to retract my earlier post because the marketing stradagy is clearly working.

I CAN'T GET THAT FRICKEN SONG OUT OF MY HEAD.

Gather around the campfire, guys and gals -- and grab a beverage........

Let's all go back in time...........remember when you did something that you thought was the right thing to do -- and it turned out terribly wrong?

.........it's called 'Being human'...........

Each of us is only human - we make mistakes.

Yes - to some, this was a real 'crash and burn' .......

BUT -- to a few others who think "performance cars" are for neanderthals -- they thought the message was just fine...........

I can safely predict that we (that's you and me) have made bad decisions, too.

For the record -- I was stunned when I saw it being rehearsed......and I must say that I could have predicted that this was not going to be well received in the performance car community........

......but I also know that the persons who pulled the idea together had the best of intentions.......

(..funny thing - we're all 'human beings' -- but look at the many differences between each of us.....)

So -- how 'bout we all just chill out -- I can tell you that the persons responsible are paying a very dear price for this........

The name "Camaro" means "friend, pal, or comrade" - - let's try to incorporate that into our thinking. (me included!)

( - go back and read what's been said in this thread and other threads on the 'net -- would you want this said about YOU when you made a bad decision?)

Let's move along - and look forward to a great 2010 --
