There's more to it than peak power to weight ratios. The LS3 might have a flatter torque curve, suspension setup could be better, ability to put wider tires out back, etc.

You are right but I guess we have to wait and see.

Doesn't the G8 GXP come out soon? I think the GXP will give us a better idea on how the Camaro will perform since it has the ls3(with slightly less power) and the 6 speed manual on basically the same platform.

I think it actually comes out at about the same time as the Camaro... not sure though.

The base model Challenger SE has an MSRP of $21,000

It makes roughly the same amount of torque as the Mustang 4.0 V6 and DESTROYS the Mustang's old Ford Exploder engine in hp.

Yeah, we are not even going to mention how bad it beats the GM 3800 and the Ford Essex 3.8 in hp and torque. It's certainly more reliable than a Ford Essex.

I think it qualifies for Chrysler LLC's $2.99 a gallon gas guarantee.
It has an unlimited powertrain warranty.

But there's just one problem:

WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION?!!!!
Nope. Not there. You get that A604 derived 4 speed automatic.

4 spd? Who in the world still makes a 4 speed for a car that costs more than $20,000?!!! Jeezus!

Screw that. I want a pistol grip 6 speed manual. The freakin' six speed is already in production for the 3.7 truck engines. Modify the bell housing to fit the 3.5 l HO V6 and put that bitch in already.

With a decent freeway gear for 6th I bet it gets closer to 28 mpg freeway.

I won't buy a V6 Mustang with that Exploder truck engine and I guess I will not be buying a Challenger either. C'mon GM! Gimme a Camaro worth buying that I can shift for myself.

22,000...(it's 21,995)

And the V6 Camaro will have a choice of either 6-speed auto, or manual.

Without the looks. lol jk but honestly the 2010 phoenix v6 with hopefully a better trans will be out. This one isn't fun to drive due to the lazy 4 speed trying to move a 4k lb car.

JUST GET THE V8! hahah

IDK, as others have pointed out, they improved the IRS so it will probably launch better than the GTO. Also the Camaro SS has tires much more suited to its power. It is running 275s out back. The GTO had 245s I believe....much less contact patch to grab the ground.

As far as roll racing...that is where the GTO really shined, when it didn't have to worry about hooking as much. The same will be true of the Camaro SS....it will be a roll monster too.
