WOW! These posts are brutal and funny! No car that comes off assembly line is a racecar. Period. But if you plan to track the car, high weight is bad for moment center and roll center. But for 99% of drivers, this is not the case. I raced dirt late model for 23 years...real purpose built tube chassis race cars. My 1LE has a sunroof and I would not have it any other way. I am in Michigan too, not Fla, CA, or Tx. My car is a sunny day car... Roof is open 95% of the miles driven. I am 6' 1" tall and head room is no issue...just tilt the seat back a little. LOL Enjoy the sun and breeze my friends!

Well I'm a 170 lb pencil neck so I have a weight advantage on my L99 over yours. Better watch out for me! I wear a small T-shirt actually uh oh....

Why is a sunroof a "must have" in Texas?

Between the weight and the lack of head room.

Someone who is a true enthusiast who loves to track their cars would not opt for this option.

That is why the Z28 does not have a sunroof or vert opt.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious, well other than making a point of who is a true enthusiast. I didn't know owning a 1LE with a sunroof was against enthusiast rules.

You should point that out in person the next time your at a local show or car club. That way allot of people can just walk away shaking their heads.
Not the performance part but the enthusiast part.

I stand by remark on the True enthusiast, and if someone did ask me my opinion at any car show or meet, I would give 100% my opinion, like it or not.

Would it make a difference if I Plasti-Coated the back half of the sunroof?

(This should guarantee another 3 pages.)

Get a convertible. Two cars in one. No visibility or headroom problems.
