I have reached a point where I no longer care if a question is posed by a genuine newbie to the world of cars, or a troll thats looking to see how many replies he gets. Because I have realized that eventually, most traffic on a car forum will be because of searches, and as such, 8 years down the road a genuine answer to an absurd question can, presumably, be helpful to someone. Not to mention the fact that if someone was asking the question honestly, they'll get a decent answer (rather than sarcasm). But if they're trolling ... they'll get their 15 seconds of entertainment, and 8 years down the road when someone asks Google about something their trying to sort out, a genuine answer to a strange question may still be helpful to someone.

Anything that changes a car from its factory setup is, technically speaking, a modification (ie, a 'mod'). Might not do anything useful or interesting, but its still a mod none the less.

I like your comment about the value of even silly topics such as this.

I'd venture to not call this a trolling topic because, I'd think, anyone who visits here would see this isn't serious (well, the part about asking how difficult to install).

Then again, there may be someone (as you said) down the road who may be concerned that "installing" these may require some alteration to their Camaro.

Also, this does open up the question as to what counts as a "mod".

mod
[mod] Informal.
Spell Syllables
noun
1.
an act or instance of modifying; modification.
verb (used with object), modded, modding.
2.
to modify, especially a vehicle or mechanical part:
'The car was modded for speed and power.'

Not sure how 'carpet mats' fit that ;o)

Well we could hold a poll as to whether or not floor mats are a mod. Or we could do a poll to see if we need to hold a poll. Or we should just take off and poll the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure...

Dude where's this video? I still have my mats in their boxes and I cannot figure out how they go in. Been waiting for someone to show how to do this.

Think I need more beer.

it's been two days, not one picture of the install completed. Must be more difficult for him than he planned.

I had to bring it in to a buddy at a local GM Service Center, as they kept causing a CEL. He checked the codes, said it was the mats, and that now my VIN is flagged for modding and my warranty is void!
