Nice looking car. I thought the 2013 looked fine but it was a little bland. The 2014 has more character. Nice little improvements too, especially with the increase of rear interior room and return of the manual parking brake. These seemed to be the biggest complaints on the Malibu reviews I read.

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting.
Side by side it looks like less of a change.

Hello Q'smuscle, We have taken a certain interest in creating a strong class of vehicles to offer our customers. I can assure you there is a continued effort to design and build great vehicles moving forward. Have you had the opportunity to see the new Chevy SS? Another great vehicle to add to that strong line up! http://media.gm.com/content/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/chevrolet-ss/2014.html?id=1370112205092 Reggie B. Chevrolet Customer Care

![]() Also, IIRC, this chop was based on the ATS which would mean (if such a car were built) it would be true sister model to the ATS sedan (and possible Alpha Buick). Being lighter it would move better, stock for stock, than the SS sedan ever would. |

They need to change the grille. I'm tired of that generic Chevy look. Make it more agressive it would be even better. |

Pretty sure that chop is Malibu based, not ATS.

Sure it's easy to say that one would take that particular car over the SS, but the million dollar question is would you buy this over the Camaro? Because if something like that existed the Camaro would be gone. Like the Highlander "There can only be one", especially these days. Even the FWD Monte Carlo couldn't stay around when the Camaro returned.

I know it's not the best argument since I was comparing volume FWD family sedans (albeit with sporty trims) to possible RWD models (which would be much more of a niche market), but here's something I posted elsewhere a couple of weeks ago: I'd love to see a R/AWD Malibu happen. The current EP II platform that Malibu rides on now is close in dimension to Alpha, not to mention it'd be a perfect excuse to revive the Chevelle as a RWD only sister coupe. I know that size wise it would totally overlap with the 6th gen Camaro, but theoretically Chevy could differentiate the interior packaging to make it a true five seater rather than a 2+2. Also, who's to say there wouldn't still be room for two stylistically divergent RWD coupes in Chevy's lineup? Not the greatest example, but look at Nissan's Altima and Maxima (same platform, one offers an I4 and V6 and coupe, the other is V6 sedan only). If Nissan can sell both of those cars, why couldn't Chevy do both an Alpha Camaro and Alpha Malibu/Chevelle? In a way, it might make more sense to build a Chevy RWD sedan on a true midsize platform (i.e. Alpha) especially if the early positive reviews for the new Impala translate to sales. If I needed a more family friendly car, I would have no problem buying something like the rendering above if the performance was there. |

Prepare for the Camaro5 freakout of the century.
If some reports are to believed, the 2014 Malibu with the 2.0T has a faster 0-60 time than a Camaro V6.
