I bought an Ecoboost F-150 extended cab last November. It hauls the Camaro and four people without missing a beat. I am getting 16-18 MPG around town and it keeps getting better (7500 miles right now). On the highway I get about 23-25 at 70 mph and 27-28 at 55 mph. The low-end torque is just awesome and I've never had a truck with better traction control.

I HAD a 2010 F-150 XLT......My company bought me a 2010 Chevy Silverado LT, so I sold my Ford back to the Dealership (made a profit). I like FREE use of a truck (well $3 a day for IRS), and I really like FREE gas.......but the Chevy can't hold a candle to the Ford!!! I am not brand loyal, but I seem to like Fords for DD, and GM's for weekend toys.

Couldn't order an F-150 the way I wanted it. Did not like the fx4 package, all flat black trim, ugh. The lariat has the ugliest wood grain I've ever seen, and If I wanted the options I wanted, that was the interior I'd get.

Silverado is the best looking full size truck. I've got 8,000 miles on it now and no complaints. No rattles either. And BTW, I love love love the exhaust sound on this. A real nice growl.

same here. i tried out both. fuel mileage was compareble. but the ecoboost seemed like a childs toy compared to the power of the 6.2. plus the sound of the gm is like pure sex!

However I am not and neither is my wife and when we tried out the F150 eco, Ram hemi and GMC and also a Tundra and I can say without a doubt the F150 FX4 won me over the rest by a large margin.
See sections in bold.

What were you trying to order? Did you drive the Ford 6.2?

I got a Silverado because the incentives were incredible, my company had a purchasing agreement with GM, so I got an additional discount, and because I just really love the looks.

I don't really mind the interior, it isn't the greatest in the world as far as the dash and IP, but I find the seats super comfortable and they are heated AND cooled! That's friggin sweet!

All in all, I saved so much on the truck, that I can probably sell it in 2 years and break even, so I'm not too worried about it.

Buy what you want, all the trucks are pretty damn nice! It sort of turns out to be a mixture of personal preference combined with incentives from the dealers at the time. I was in a bit of a hurry because my old DD needed replacement or I might have waited for the next gen.

6.2 only came with the Platinum, Raptor or Harley Davidson editions. Didn't like anything else about those models.

You can also get the 6.2 in the Lariat trim, and King Ranch
