Steve Saleen trashes GM, and the Camaro

Old wounds never heal, anyhow what a looooser. He makes the shit up as he goes . It probably pissed him off greatly seeing more people interested about a camaro than any of his products ever. Especially with little kids idol bumblebee being thrown in his face daily. We all now it was a gto ls2 under the covers. Gm supplied him with the molds and parts , so essentially he sub contracted out to GM to make a Hollywood prop. He assembled the car and made the frame fit nothing thousands of shop across the country can't do. I remember him saying how GM was working with him giving him info and how he was going to possibly work on a Saleen Camaro if would let him. He sang plenty of praise on the car back then. Whats even funnier is he put money into that mustang/movie all he did is give ford a commercial. Who sees the mustang in the movie and think Saleen? To top it off he say bumblebee was going to be the mustang hahaahahahahahahahaha talk about sour grapes. Nowhere other than his mouth has anybody ever heard this everybody heard about VW not wanting in but this?

He's just worried that his business is about to go into the shitter....this new Camaro is something else and will definitely take away from his business. Oh and anyone who buys anything "Saleen" after seeing how he's talked trash deserves the "trash" that they get....besides everyone knows that the Saleen Mustang is an over-priced, over-hyped POS.

I think Carroll Shelby said something bad about the Corvette about 40 years ago,if you wussies want to whine about that also. I'm sure Henry Ford talked some smack about the Curved dash Olds if you really want to get pissed................................

Big difference between Shelby and his long standing rivalry with the Vette.

I have the utmost respect for Roush, Shelby and many other "ford" names.

But Saleen has proven himself to be a bottom feeder in his handling of this. He had a great opportunity to win over Chevy guys and this is how he goes about it.

These comments come from a guy who's company was struggling with bankruptcy several years ago, until a private venture capital company had to bail HIM out and move him from SoCal to Michigan. While there is no question the company is no longer struggling, they must realize they have lost some competitive edge and must retaliate with words.

Bottom line, he's losing a small stake of performance people. He's also just jealous. The Camaro doesn't need all the Saleen mods to make it a fast car.

He made really outrageous claims about the work he did on the bumblee camaro and, about the car in general, for the movie transformers. The link to the vid is somewhere in this thread.
