I got a ticket for mine too. I got out of it but I'm not peeling it off I just roll my windows down a little when I see Barney Fife lurking.

The rear window concerns a police officer just as any other window. So not sure what your valid point is here.

I would say from a leo stand point the winshield is what got ya...sides and back are one thing, the winshield might indicate you want to hide something....imho

You can tint your windshield legally in Florida IF you have a Doctors prescription / note that it is needed because of your vision !

Untrue. I went through one of those random Broward sheriff office checkpoint and they checked my tint levels. I am running legal. I did so figuring the Camaro was a police magnet. I've also been pulled over for one of those red light camera blOcker things and the trooper make me take it off.

Don't risk it

I've ran all my vehicles with 20% and funny enough I have only ever been pulled over in my tuner cars for it.

As an LEO the law on tint is foolish, you can have your rear window/trunk totally tinted or even vinyl covered. Same with your rear passenger windows. The only windows not to be covered are the front driver and passengers. The high risk area's are the trunk & unseen rear passengers. You know someone is driving the damn car. And you know if you have tint it's just as hard to see out of it at night as it is to see in. Plus spot lights and maglights work wonders.

Anyway OP, just pay your fine lol, you got caught, take it on the chin. I'd def strip that 35 off the windshield though.
I have never had tint on any vehicle in the past. I plan on doing 35% on everything but the windshield, which I will leave alone. I rarely use the AC during the summer, opting to leave the windows down, so I am thinking they will leave me alone unless I get pulled over for something else.

That's pretty dark tint. I guess since you already have it just stick with it though.

It's true though. To my knowledge, it's LEGAL to tint your rear window as dark as you want in CA, but not the sides. And CA will ticket you for farting in a carpool lane.

I don't stop anyone unless I can no longer see the silhouette .. which is pretty fair. That would put the tint somewhere between 4-8% in the day time. I am around 17-20% all around. Most cops do not care about wind shield and rear windows. However, I have had some people state they have serious issues with insurance claims when their windshield is completely tinted (at any %). I believe it is illegal in most states below the AS1 line.
