What year was fuel injection offered as an option on both the Corvette and Chev passenger car ?

Correct, 1965 was an interesting year for Chevy. It was the transition from the 409 to the new big block 396. I really like the recent Chevy commercial were the sons find their Dad's '65 409. Not sure how the numbers break out with Impala's SS409s versus SS396s.

Maybe my son will show up with my '67 SS/RS 396 vert one day.

Correct DTM4192. . . to tell the difference just look at the rear end
even the 66 malibu tails..were similiar ~

Edit: . . . some one else answered. . . .
Big Block Malibu/Chevelle
actually 1965 but only 200 coupes and 1 vert were made
Via Option Package Z16...
1966 it became easier to get the big block
aka SS396. . . !
