OK. Well if you're counting three gear transmission don't you have to count over drive as well?

That would be correct yes. My dad has a '77 vette, but its a 4 speed automatic. Which, as PQ has already told us, is not as fast as a '77 4 speed manual.

the shifter on the column works great with a bench seat..... on a side note, its near impossible for your GF to knock the truck out of gear with a column shift...... ever tried scrambling around to find the brake when your head's in the door?
