Pony Car V8s are here to stay

For anyone doubting if the V8s will be around the next Pony Car generation? Take a look at another Mustang V8 in the making.

Sounds like the ZL1 is being challenged before it even gets on the showroom floor !!!!

Are you serious?

My MT-82 is a better trans than the TR-6060's I had in both my 2010 GT500 and 2010 Camaro SS. Never had an issue. If you dig into the root cause, it boiled down to the factory clutch where pressure plate bolts were backing out causing it to not disengage properly. Owners would continue to drive in a degraded state causing syncro's to fail and then blame the transmission for the problem. There were a few legitimate trans issues but no more than the TR-6060 has had guaranteed.

Regarding #8, there was a window of time where tunes were causing issues. That has since been fixed by the aftermarket tuning community and haven't heard of an issue in several months. The problem was too lean, too much timing and reduced knock sensor sensitivity. That has all been rectified.

Now that has been clarified, back to scheduled programming.

I agree with you completely but, there are advantages to the TR6060. One of the major advantages is the fluid capacity of the TR6060 which is something Ford was interested in and decided to use in the Boss 302S and I believe the Boss 302R (have to confirm the 302R). The 6MT1500 (or the MT82) is lighter, simpler and cheaper than the TR6060... and has been proven to handle a lot of abuse. The MT82 is rated at a low 370lb ft of torque but at almost 10,000lbs, the TR6060 in the SS is rated at 430 at 3850lbs.. That means at the GTs weight, the transmission is capable of almost 700lb ft which is why Lethal and other companies can't break some of these transmissions. There are some bad ones though and this is typical of new products.. I am sure you know all of this already... except for the Boss 302S using the TR6060, most people don't know that

Just like in the muscle car hay day.

Sux not much has changed since the 5th gen debut in early 2006... almost six years ago. In the mean time the Mustang has had a ton of updates and models since 2/06

The 5th gen hasn't needed to change much, unlike the Mustang.

I just seen that, nice rolling start.. lets see the time from a dig like the ZR1 and CTS-V...

Edit: Nevermind, the ZR1 was rolling too... I guess a flying lap is the standard now...

Are you expecting going from a dig to make up for 18 seconds or something?
