http://mustangforums.com/forum/2005-...kip-shift.html

found here. I guess mustang's have it- so the same way of getting rid of the tax.

So i'm assuming same deal..

GT-500 does not have the skip-shift nor will the ZL-1.. You probably did pay a gas guzzler tax that was masked in the cost.

So Ford and Chevy both play this game with the SS and GT.. nice way to avoid the tax.

It's in the SS and GT to keep the cost down so the regular Joe can get into one.

Once you're at the GT500/ZL1 price point....that's no longer a concern.

I think its pretty sad this thread has gone on and on and on and everyone keeps arguing about the same thing lol
The 5.0 and the 6.2 are two very reliable engines when you start to play you better be ready to pay.
It is funny how guys with the new 5.0 are screaming tuner tuner and saying there is no way our motor could have issues. Not ever motor is perfect !!!!
Every automaker makes problem childs.
I do however say this could have been a few tuners rushing to the $$$$$$ pit and just throwing out crappy tunes.

I have come across two 5.0's both ran very strong and were modded with bolt on's so I can't speak for a stock car.
I can say with a LS3 conversion , Cam and a stalled automatic I gained respect out of both Stangs. Cool thing both drivers of both cars were awsome and not like your normal mustang drivers.

I'm here to first admitt there will always be someone who will beat you
Its life. Yes there will be pleanty of 5.0's who will beat a Camaro and there will be pleanty of Camaro's who will beat 5.0's
I'm also here to say every automaker has its faults and pro's.

Maybe one of you Blue bloods can explain to me what you get out of coming on here and aruging with someone who you know isnt going to agree with you ?
If you are that bored go drive your car and enjoy the power your automaker gave you.

I'm not a ford person by any means but will say for once ford stepped up with the 5.0.
Doesnt mean im going to buy one lol

Basically!

And the SS can have this removed with a cheap $20 part. From what I am reading the GT has to have it tuned out..I guess the computer bugs out if it's tricked?

On the Mustang the solenoid can be unplugged altogether or it can be disabled via a tune. The other alternative is to shift at 3K. It never activates if it is driven as such.

BTW - My 2010 GT500 had a gas guzzler tax. I believe it was an extra $1,600 to the total price.

There are so many bullshit threads and, "ZOMG is my engine going to blow?" threads there, there's no way I will be able to find what specifically you are talking about. Can you just link so all of us can gain your understanding of the matter?
