Maybe not because the camaros and mustangs have gas mileage that match some 4cyl. but they also offer performance not found in a 4 cyl. unless turboed, but the the 4cly looses gas mileage. |

That's sad new's. I can just see them in the future holding their value and turning into true collectors cars in 15 year's when we run out of affordable oil.

it is indeed a lil faster than the v6 mustang (never denied that). but i wouldnt call it a butt whoopin.
In 2008 they got 3:13.3 around the Lightning Lap with an Evo MR this year they got 3:10.6 with the V6 Mustang 3:12.5 despite losing time by riding top speed limiter through so much of the track. but yes, the evolution IS a lil faster than the V6 Mustang. |

Neither the evo or sti have ever been about demand. They sold less than 5k a year of each. As for the evo not having heritage. . . someone hasn't got a clue what they're talking about. The evo has been a huge part of motorsport, especially wrc. Among Japanese sports cars, the evo is a legend like the supra, skyline, rx7, etc.

I never said I would buy one....but if I was going to buy a Mitsubishi...the EVO would be the ONLY model I would have considered... Personally, I like the feel of a v-8.....

As for the Skyline...lets just say the one that did show up at the local car show had three people looking at it, while the four 5th generations had a crowd the entire time. Hell mine was filthy and still had people checking it out. Clearly the Japanese pefromance car fad has dropped a couple notches over the last decade.

The Evos are great cars. Don't know how anyone can dog them unless they've never driven one.. Anyway, Mitsu did this to themeselves. Way too expensive plus they lost site of what the car is really suppose to be.. I can see the SRT-8 lineup doing the same for Dodge. Way too expensive.

+1. I don't care to be called "clueless" for it...
If it's a performance car I like. I'll mourn it. I was sad when the Viper went on hiatus, I'm still sad the G8 is gone, ditto for the Cobalt SS...however, I will not miss this little thing one little bit. |

That's just in stock form. Spend a few thousand in mods and it can be a all out time attack racing machine, 10 second dragster or 9's with a built engine and a GT35r, or all out street machine which it was top dog due to its light weight, AWD, 9,000 rpm redline and almost limitless power potential (1,200whp+) until the GT-R came out but that's $90k. I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything like that, just curiosity.

I see next to zero on the street (perhaps because I don't notice it)...and I just will not miss it. That's it. However, I do not appreciate being accused of being "narrow-minded" and/or "clueless" because of that. I'm not (and wouldn't) try to convince anyone to not miss the vehicle, so it's a little bold to come back and tell me my tastes are "wrong". I'm very well aware that this is a fast car. So is nissan's gtr. So are some Alfa Romeos and Ferraris, so is that new lexus....I'm also aware how they each accomplish their feats.....but I do not like any of them, and I would not miss them if they were all discontinued...that doesn't mean I'm clueless, ignorant, or whatever else insult some would like to sling in my direction. It just means I have tastes that are different than others. Get over it. |
