I think I'll just take the better stopping car however many pistons the calipers in back may have.

When did that happen?? By my understanding the camaro still have better brakes feel on the track and slightly shorter stoping distance, but thats according to the mag rags. I still have not driven either one though.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t_numbers.html

there is a 4 foot advantage to the stang. but that is 100% due to the 200 LB weight advantage of the stang NOT because of the rear brake difference.

not sure about brake feel on the track though... they felt the same on the streets though.

Only 4 feet long, and 200 lbs heavier is pretty darn good to me!!

IMVHO 60-0 brakeing distance is pointless unless your into mag rag internet wars lol, on the track brakes resistance to brake fade is faaaaaaar more important on the track. The camaro brakes has been universally praised in the media.

i would say it is actually too much longer the driver might have done something different but i think some tests have them as even closer together (like 1-2 feet)

in both cars i would immediately switch out the brake pads and fluid for more track ready equipment. from the factory i would be happy with either set up if i were going to the track (camaro might fade quicker due to weight)... if i were going to a car show.... camaro please.

and captain, that is most certainly rust. my car is completely full of it on the bottom of it....very annoying

The Camaro brakes will boil before they fade...ask TAG.

Lol. that confirms my suspicion that both systems need new pads and fluid before any tracking is considered.

True. Any car should undergo this preparation before a serious track day is attempted. To be fair to TAG and his car...it took an entire day of tracking to boil the fluid...

I don't know why some of you are hung up on number of pistons; like someone else said it has very little to do with stopping distance, ESPECIALLY single stops, ESPECIALLY in the rear.

Increased rotor diameter, bigger calipers, piston #...they all look great, but their functional benefit only kicks in when you are running your car REAL hard on a track for a sustained amount of time. They're great when you're on slicks and have really mean brake pads.

When you're on the street though, the only thing that will really make you stop faster than the guy next to you is your tires.
