Please. I know people who have mistaken the new E-class for a Honda. They just aren't distinct anymore.

Your idea of pure sex, well, common. That car could easily be mistaken for something else. The CTS-V, not so much. |

don't worry perhaps someday cadillac will have the racing history that the europeans have. stop trying so hard fellas! i'm done with this. bottom line go ask 99% of the public (cost not being a factor) which car they would choose between the two.. MERCEDES......... game over! http://www.motortrend.com/av/roadtes...deo/index.html http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...guar_xfr-video |

And maybe someday the European makes will stop obsessing over each other and go back to making distinct looking cars.

I read a post in this thread that says the Europeans have an incredible racing history. History is nice, but shouldn't all that history translate into superior performance? Which production sedan has the fastest time around Nürburgring? Here is a hint. It ain't anything European.
That said, an AMG is one awesome automobile. The interior is as well finished as the performance is refined. I would expect nothing less given the brand and the price tag. That doesn't take away from the performance, style and quality of of the CTS-V. Forget the for the money. If price were no object we would all be driving Bentley Continental GTs. For all but a fraction of a percent of the world's population price is an object and that includes many very wealthy people who choose to spend their money on things other than automobiles. I get tired of the GM or American car quality debate too. Mercedes took a dump in that category and is just climbing back to the top tier. Toyota, we all know that story, but can some one explain why Toyota trucks have been rusting out frames for the last 25 years and people that own them suck up a credit to take their rusted out unsafe frame truck or SUV and gladly by another Toyota all the while singing the Toyota theme song???? Build quality at GM has been improving for a decade. It has jumped in the last three years to best in class by some vehicle segments. It is time to stop talking about how bad GM was and talk about how good it is. The CTS-V is a an awesome automobile. It holds the Nürburgring record for a production sedan on the European's home track. It took on the Europeans and beat them. Period. No caveats. I know GM and I know Benz. I get tired of the snob factor of people and the media against well engineered, well built American automobiles. |
