You are forgetting you couldn't even consider it as a GMC as long as there was the G8.............Imagine in the same showroom (Buick Pontiac GMC) a GMC truck with the same doors and interior as the Pontiac Sedan..............couldn't really pull that one off.

True. But that problem's been solved for the most part...unless the Commodore is going to Chevy. In which case you'd have to do some sheet metal changes a la Equinox/Terrain.
