I'll let you know how it goes today. I'm going to stop at a ammo store nearby and pick up some brass ammo for the m30. Jim, thats a nice bullpup you got there. Say what you want about the AK. That gun will never give you problems and will shoot everytime. Its cool you got something for the kids to shoot also. Nice guns.

Thanks, I agree AK platform is one of the best. No kids, It's a KIDD something I can shoot and not spend a ton of money to do so. Also it's the most accurate of the bunch.

Smart man. Ammo is pricey! Ok verdict, the tulaammo and the other steel case brand had about 4 misfires out of 100 rounds. I didn't get a chance to try the brass ammo i got. Our time at the range was up.

Yeah, AK's don't seem to have a problem with the steel cased ammo. Then again, they don't have a problem with anything. The M30 is a little more finiky. The same thing happened to my M30 with the steel case as I've read and seen on youtube. The firing pin doesn't strike the primer hard enough and the unfired rounds that kick out show and indentation in the primer. I was able to reload them and they fired the second time.

If you have any of that ammo left, check the primers of any unfired rounds. Then compare them to a fired casing.

You might find the primers are not seated deep enough and the initial firing pin strike seats the primer. The second firing pin strike then sets the round off.

After doing a little searching on the net, i found where anothe M30 owner was having the same issue. He noticed that where his firing pin protrudes through the bolt its "volcano" shaped as he put it. In the vid, he buffed the area where the firing pin was and the firing pin itself. He mentioned that after doing this he had no misfires. I may look into this.

I just started shooting last Dec. Took training course and have my CCW. My home weapon is a Glock 23 40 cal. My carry gun is either my Ruger LCS 9mm or my Glock 43 9mm
