Let's us know if Ford's order process is as broken as Chevy's.

Arrghh. Being a woman myself, I have always been a Camaro gal. The Mustang is just butt ugly to me. I wouldn't drive one if it was given to me.

So it's just dumb luck that live axles have all but vanished from every car maker on the planet and independent rear suspension has replaced it across the board from Kias to Bentleys?

The GT "outhandles" the Camaro (and by that I assume you mean gets through turns faster) because of its lighter weight and smaller wheelbase, in spite of its SRA, not because of it. Remember, the Camaro in the last article was exactly 1 TENTH of a second slower in lap time, despite the size and weight disadvantage and the supposed better handling of the mustang.

That said, you missed the point of my previous post. the VAST majority of all mustangs will be daily drivers, not drag racers NOR track runners. They will be used to commute to and from work, weekend activities and take out on joyrides. Live axles simply can't absorb potholes, train track crossings, uneven pavement, etc. that most drivers will have to contend with everyday. That has nothing to do with the twisties, switchbacks or 1320s.

No complaints as a daily driver

Good thing a certain Ford guy is through with this thread or this would be some kind of bias.

The rest of us are sure when the weather is right, the Mustang will see better numbers.

Lol, mine is. Two stop signs, I'm on the highway. When I get off the highway, one stoplight and one "S" curve, right in the middle of town, and I'm at work!

I could take the two lane back roads to work, and deal with farmers and traffic. At night I'd be on guard for whitetail.

Yep, my daily is boring, lol.

That describes my car and how I use it perfectly.

Ssshhhh....don't tell my car is can't handle these things, as I contend with all three on my daily commute. In fact, it seems to handle all those things just as well as my 2006 GTO with IRS did.

It's not that the Mustang isn't a fine car also, because it is... I've just always been a bowtie guy . Even if I have 2 fords in the house now, and 2 chevy's ( down sized from 5 chevys ) .
Anouther thing I hate is the 36,000 mile warrenty when mine is 100,000 and I have to pay extra to get hers to 100,000.

Oh well... she will be a happy little girl
Bumper-to-bumper on warranty for both Ford and Chevy is 3 yrs / 36,000 miles.

The powertrain warranty for Ford is 5 yrs / 60,000 for Ford vs. 5 yrs /100,000 for Chevy. How many miles a year does you wife drive? How many miles does the 2007 Mustang have?

Actually no, it doesn't. J1349 is the standard virtually every automaker has used for their ratings since the early 1970's, and it requires a lot more than an educated guess. The new J2723 standard everybody has been talking about doesn't actually supercede the old J1349 process, it simply means that a third party is watching you when you carry that J1349 process out.

And i drove my brother's 05 GT regularly and it definately handled potholes/road imperfections worse than the 5th gen SS
