Looks like Trifecta is going to be the only option. Though EFI went back and looked a tune again, they set it aside again because of the introduction of the new cummings engine. Gonna have to work with ARD to use their dyno though.

I understand that companies are going to focus more of their time and resources on the V8, but I still can't believe they've just pushed the V6 aside like they have.

Yeah its crap for sure. I really can't believe we dont have more tunes available. But you know Vince from Trifecta was smart because he is getting all the V6 business since there are no options and its 400 for the tune and 600 for the tune and cable, but thats with unending support.

None of this is in accordance with the prophecy.

especially since the v6 is now outselling the v8's. You'd think companies would see this.

Methinks it's just hard to kick the habit of 'seeing more money in V8s' instead of taking a real step back, not just one baby step and going "meh.."

Also just found out that the drawing for that 'Camaro' money would occur on March 6. My birthday is 4 days later. I swear to god that he's just f'king with me.

Again.

Generally, there are more people that want to mod their SS than their V6. A good portion of the V6 sales go to people who tend to be less interested in performance, for whatever their reason may be. Thats not to say nobody is interested, but there isn't really enough interest for these companies to justify putting R&D money into it ... at least not yet.

I could have understood that last year, when the SS was outselling the v6, but I'm pretty sure that with the way sales has flipped, there's almost the same amount of interest, if not more to mod the v6. Of course this is just speculation on my part, but so was your statement. Heck, just today I saw a handful of new members wanting to mod their newly bought v6's.

I think the last guy hit the nail on the head about companies gearing towards v8's because that's what usually brought the money. But then again, the v6 mustang already has more going for it then the v6 camaro.

The v6 has been on sale and out on the streets for what, 2 years now? The whole "it's still a new engine" is played out. Especially since there has been no progress with any other tunes besides one.

Keep in mind, people on this website are not normal ... most have a much higher interest in their cars than the general population.

But you are right, I'm just speculating here. But its hard to get around the idea that if a V6 owner wanted a faster car, they probably would have simply bought an SS in the first place (potentially used, if cost was a factor), especially for more recent buyers. Thinking about it the other way ... if sales dictate the mod-potential of a car, then the aftermarket support for the Toyota Camry would dwarf that of the Camaro. Something tells me, thats not the case. Typical Camry buyers have different values than the typical Camaro buyer. Likewise, differences exist between typical SS buyers and typical V6 buyers. They're smaller, obviously, but still there.

Eh, the camry analogy doesn't work very well since it's not a tuner type car. That's more of a family sedan. But you are right, sales doesn't necessarily mean more mods, but the possibility and potential to be there on a "sports car" is not something to look past.

Also, there is more to look at other then initial cost. A lot of people (younger) can't afford even a used SS, let alone the insurance for one. Also the way gas prices are going up, it's just not practical.

Is there a smaller market for v6 stangs compared to v8 stangs?
