A little late getting on this thread but if 72 counts I'm in. Rather than think of myself as an old fart I consider gettng a 5th Gen Camaro as just reward for all the years of having to buy junkers & clunkers! Many times I bought a car for $ 100 or $ 200 & when it died I just took off the tages & left it for the city tow trucks. I have to admit that the width of the 2010 makes me a lot more observant of the size of lane spaces on the road. My recent daily was a Monte Carlo SS & always thought nothing would make me give it up. The 2010 Camaro changed out that loyalty though.
I really enjoy all the possible mod variations that can be done & this Forum is a ABSOLUTE God send for at least this "Ole Fart:~!

is the Mali the best price you will find for that condition? Is the link you posted the one you're getting, or like the one you want?

I have suggested this before and didnt get anywhere.....but I want you to be very happy with your car....you have time,no problem...change to a 6m...this is a sports car that handles very well, putting the auto in it is ripping the cars heart out.....its like buying an auto Corvette which in my not so humble opinion shouldnt even be available....see if you can find one to drive....you will love it....just tryin to be a friend..........

I shift at least 200 times a day.
200 x 7 days = 1400 x 52 weeks = 72,800 gear shifts a year.

My car will likely be a 6m, but ONLY because it's not a daily driver. I put ~3,000 hwy miles a year on my personal pickup.

If I drove the car daily I'd get the auto.

Just my 2 pennies

Thanks guys, I truely do appreciate and value your input. My knowledge on this class of car is limited to what I've read here. Which I realize by no means is the same as understanding that knowledge from driving one and getting that “being one with the car” feeling. Hard to explain, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

If I had the extra $$ damn-straight I’d have a 2SS Manual and I’d be hounding y’all for info on how to mod it up and make it scream!

But this is a big purchase for me as it is, and it will have to be my daily drive for quite awhile. Which is why I went with the V6, and didn’t get the manual. With the stop & go traffic around here I KNOW I’d ride the clutch . Plus, it would be a lot of 1st gear, 2nd gear, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 1st gear, 2nd gear.. heck, I’m tired of shifting and I’m not even driving!

Besides, my TPW is next week so it’s too late to change my order now.

I'm 65 and don't mind being considered an old fart. I do however enjoy it when the sweet little babes at Blockbuster come up to me and say, "I love your car!" I drove it in the Woodward cruise and got plenty of thumbs up. When I make my usual trips to Nashville, via Kentucky, I get so many thumbs up and cell phone shots that it simply makes me smile. I can't fill up down there without people coming over to talk, (they love the old Bow tie). I have met so many great people, spoken with hot Moms in parking lots who have daughters who "want a Camaro when they graduate from college" - it's just great fun. Yes, I will do some very limited racing when challanged, (as I often am), but chicken out when I get over 90 MPH; just too old to go to jail and lose my CPL. It has been a fun ride and I hate seeing it sitting in my garage during these cold messy days! It needs to be driven!
