Got any targets or shooting glasses? Plano makes some okay cases - not too expensive, but not for shipping or traveling with.

Planning on at least getting some new grips and a beavertail for it down the road. A buddy and I are going to try to get out to the range early next week to see how she fires, can't wait!!
Nice!

Why were you specifically searching for Rock Island and not say Springfield?

You need a light. Go here for some visual representation:

http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=22625

Also, shoot some to familiarize yourself with the gun. Buy some more ammo and take a 1-3 day carbine training course. BTW, great price on the M&P.

If you want a heavy duty case, then pelican is the only way to go.

Otherwise, go get some targets, earmuffs, and more ammo!

The 1911 is one of my favs. I don't shoot them enough to be able to say one model is better than the other one. But I have shot a WW2 1911 and, after 60 years, it still functioned perfectly and was deadly accurate at 25 feet.

Price tag Getting married soon, gotta save money heheh. Plus, everything I read about the RIA 1911s was positive, a few nitpicky gripes here and there, but everyone said they are a great value for the price tag and I have to agree now that i have one. Took it out to the range yesterday, shot great! Only had time for about 50 rounds, but no mis-feeds or anything like that.

John Moses Browning was an amazing inventor on the par with Bill Gates and other techno wizards today. Look at what a car, airplane, boat of today looks like compared to these things in 1911. A 1911 pistol is just as effective today as it was when introduced in 1911. Sure they may have different sights, beavertail grip safeties but you can take a basic RIA 1911 A-1 and learn to shoot it just as well as you can some more expensive guns. Do your self a favor and buy a 1911 pistol. The 1911 is a piece of American heritage and by the way it turns 100 this year! Beside the 1911 has a classic feel in regards to pistol just like a Camaro has it's own unique feel in automobiles.

Here is a picture of my RIA but it wears Pearce rubber grips now

I'll agree. My kimber tactitcal entry II is one fine shooting pistol. First mag out of the box near went through the same hole at 15 yeards.

I still prefer my glock though.

Hello all fairly new to the site, just purchased a 2011 summit white 2LT/RS . Lots of useful information here and would like to thank those that contribute their knowledge/experiences. I was particularly glad to see this firearms thread. I was wondering where some of the good concealed spots are in the vehicle are besides the obvious glovebox, rear seat pouch. I have a S&W M&P 40c, it doesn't fit well in the center console with my holster and I'm afraid to tear the leather seat pouch with the holsters belt clip. Any ideas?
